i heard about it but I haven't seen a replay yet. that's crazy
Toledo's wondering the same thing.
Not that I care about Toledo, but that was disgraceful. I think the announcers said it was a Big East officiating crew.
Toledo lost by 5 at The Ohio State Univ. a few weeks ago and had the ball driving to win in the final possession of the game. Came up just short. Just sayin.....
Not to go the conspiracy theory route, but looks like Syracuse was pretty much a 2 to 2 1/2 pt fav...
I saw it and it was clearly no good from the one angle, not sure how they didn't reverse it. Just as disturbing, how did the refs miss that in the first place? Big East officials have since come out and said they made the wrong call.
Story and video is here:
Disgraceful. How could he not look and an endzone angle.
With the billions of $ generated by and bet on college football, somebody somewhere has gotta be on the take.
I think what happened during the review is they also looked at another angle which wasn't in that video but in this other angle you didn't see the ball go outside the goal post so it looked good in that angle. Not sure why you couldn't see the ball in that other angle, but the one in the video clearly shows the kick was no good.
Of course, now that I think about it, that somebody somewhere is the NCAA admins and BCS bowl commissioners. I was thinking about it today when they mentioned the 5 OSU players suspended for 5 games this year, yet being allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl. All for the $$$
