Over time a lot of what Hawkins statements sound like those of a used Car Salesman - makes all sort of unsubstantiated claims that he cannot back up.
He comes into the CU job and starts talking like they are going to be an offensive juggernaut - "You blitz, we score!", "Would Gandhi take a knee?"
I remember him in the 2007 season going nuts at half-time with CJ saying "We are so close, you can see it CJ, they are starting to get it!!!"
He talks in great depth about doing things right but he the penalties keep increasing showing in one area they are not doing the little things right.
He talks about finding the right guys for the program but then recruits players who other schools have backed off of because of academics in high school.
The guy is a massive disconnect, IMO. One of those people who likes to say big sweeping statements and hopes that everyone believes it but lacks the determination to fulfill his statements.
If his team really did the little things right and played good, sound fundamental football they would probably have 3 or 4 more wins right now.
