How does it work with her scholarship since they won't be competing until spring 2014? What will she do next year? Will she lose a year of it while they compete as a club team next year?
I guess she redshirts. USC had players on scholarship this year and they don't start competing in WLAX until next year.
She is also a HS junior. Next year she will still be in HS.
OK. That makes sense.
What we really need is to try to pull some transfers.
Got to hire a coach first.
Right. She will start at CU fall 2013 and lacrosse is a spring sport and the teams first season will be spring 2014....so she will be here from day 1 and have 4 years to play.
This is why adding sports is so great. Both her parents are CU alums, and will now be even more connected with CU
Quote from her from the article: "I thought about it for a few days and I was like, 'How can I turn this down? I love Colorado. I've lived here my whole life.'" Link said.
We need more top Colorado kids to have this attitude, whatever their sport.
She is a helluva first pick up. She had offers from Penn St, UM, DU, OU! Just think what we can do once we get a coach! I'm excited already!!!
The article said 30 Colorado girls went to D1 lax programs...if CU can get half of them, I"m sure we would have a competitive team right away.
Amazing that she committed without a coach in place.
