BOULDER - Four seniors, three fifth-years, and one sixth-year will play at Kittredge Field one final time as Colorado faces Oregon in their last regular season game this Friday.

The Buffs (8-7, 6-3) defeated the Ducks in a tight 15-14 overtime game while in Eugene earlier this season. During that meeting, the graduating classes had a crucial impact on the game's outcome. On offense, fifth-year Charlie Rudy had five goals, sixth-year Sam McGee had four, and senior Katie Haley had one. McGee also had one assist as did fifth-year Liz Phillips.

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Grace Donnelly had four saves while fifth-year Bailey Hawkins had three ground balls and one caused turnover. Senior defender Karly van Leer also had one ground ball and one caused turnover.

CU has never lost to Oregon at Kittredge Field and will look to continue that tradition this Friday at 4 p.m.

Senior celebrations and recognitions will take place immediately following the game.

About the Ducks

Oregon (5-10, 1-8) is currently last in the Pac-12, winning only one conference game against Arizona State. The Ducks are on a three-game losing streak, most recently losing 16-9 against Stanford.

When CU and Oregon met last, sophomore attacker Gabby Cleveland put away five goals against the Buffs for her second highest scoring game this season. In addition to Cleveland, five other Oregon players found the back of the net, although the Duck's top scorer, Morgan McCarthy, had a quiet day with only one goal.

Oregon's goalkeeper, Paige Crowther, had a strong game with 10 saves, giving the Ducks the opportunity to keep the game close and force the Buffs into overtime.

CU's Ashley Stokes ultimately scored the game-winning goal after McGee earned the draw control. The Buffs will look to sweep Oregon in the regular season this Friday.

About 2 hours from the opening draw of the game. Looks like many seniors bein celebrated.

So bummed! I wanted to make it down on this beautiful day, but had a client book at the last minute. I know several of the players, a few of them are seniors, so I wanted to support them.

Wanted to note the team didn't do the usual senior day activities (seniors walking out with their familly, pictures with the family and coaches, etc.) pre-game, so assume they'll be doing the ceremonies post-game.

yep a 3 seed. got to win it to bet into the dance imo play oregon on wednesday and winner plays stanford.

Media after today's win.

BOULDER – Colorado lacrosse defeated the Oregon Ducks 15-5 in its senior day game here Friday evening to close out the regular season ranked third in the Pac-12.

The Buffaloes (9-7, 7-3 Pac-12) put together a dominant performance against the Ducks (5-11, 1-9 Pac-12) as they allowed just 13 total shots on goal, eight of which were saved by goalkeeper Grace Donnelly.

"I thought we did a better job defensively than we did when we were up in Eugene. That was huge for us," head coach Ann Elliott Whidden stated. "Offensively, I thought we did pretty well. In the spots, we could have shot a little bit better in some of the quarters, but I thought we did well, and it was an exciting day for us and exciting to be able to get those seniors into play."

The offense was led by Sam McGee this afternoon as she racked up three goals and an assist. McGee finished third in the Pac-12 in goals and after the game today she commented on the Buffs' slow start this season and what changed.

"We definitely had our struggles in the beginning, but we just stayed consistent and stayed locked in on the things we were supposed to do. It's all falling right now, and we're all pretty hyped, pretty amped."

Four other Buffs scored two goals, including Jess Peluso who had a fantastic showing in all areas today. Along with her two goals, Peluso recorded five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and one draw control which helped Colorado earn the win.

After ending the regular season on a good note, Colorado lacrosse will turn its attention to the Pac-12 Tournament. The Buffaloes will be playing Oregon once again in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament, a rematch of last year's first round matchup when the Ducks took down CU.

"My message after the game was, obviously, we want to celebrate our senior class, our fifth years and six years, but at the same time we stood here, exactly where we were a year ago, and we didn't end very well a few days later," said Whidden. "For us, if we really want to send this class out on a good note then we have to take care of business down there. We are capable of winning the Pac-12 Championship and we're capable of losing on Wednesday depending on how we show up, and we'll have to stay focused, and they will be reminded."

The first round matchup with the Ducks will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd at 8:00 p.m. MT at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, Calif.
