Now that the change has been made, it is going to be interesting to see what happens with recruiting. Our current verbals are in a holding pattern and we will have to see which assistants are kept on when the next coach takes over. My gut feeling (backed by comments from the recruits that Adam got yesterday):
Berglund-I think he is gone and I am not sure the next coach will be able to get him back in the fold.
Sherry-He had said a couple months ago that a lot would depend on Kiesau staying on. Kiesau may very well stay on, but I doubt it is in his current capacity. I think Sherry may stay on, but I think his verbal is tenuous and he will be hearing from other teams.
Daigh-He is very solid and will sign with the Buffs in February.
Farrow-He is solid and even if Hagan is not retained, I think he signs with the Buffs in February.
Kelley-He is a CU legacy, so I think he ends up signing with the Buffs in February.
The next coach will hopefully be here by the beginning of December to get some official visitors here in before the dead period. There are some JUCO QBs that are December graduates that might be worth a look, so we can get some competition in the Spring. I think the next coach will try to sign two QBs if possible.
Beyond that, we have a lot of official visits to use and a fair amount of scholarships to play around with. It will likely be a small class, but the new coach will have a chance to land some quality players, especially in So Cal. Several top players are still uncommitted.
