Way too early for a list. Should get a better idea come November.
Who was Bohn planning on bringing in here? I think I heard a rumor of some coach he was ready to bring in once he fired Hawkins. The Temple coach, No?
Eric Bieniemy tops my list.
Do not attempt to change the subject. We are obsessing about getting / not getting invited to the PAC 10 / PAC 16.
This topic is tabled indefinitely until Chip Brown apologizes and Mike Bohn makes a statement to Channel 4.
Pretty interesting to come in here and demand that every person who wanted to fire Hawkins must come up with a list of candidates for you on your first post.
I'm reserving judgment until I have time to look at what coaches with west coast ties are available...
Kind of like.. Gets straight to the point..
Good job cubuffs3. welcome to the board.
I've done some thinking. Rick Neuheisel.
Is this Mike Bohn? Ha..cover blown.
Given the new Texas flavor of the PAC 16 East, am I the only one who thinks we may have a pirate in our future? Not saying that's the way I'd go but it might help build a rivalry with Texas Tech awfully quick.
I think everyoen at allbuffs should have a ping-pong ball, bohn picks it and there is your new coach.
Just throwing a name out there. How about Paul Chryst?
Art Briles... :smile2:
Well, at least we know I'd never end up as coach...
I am just saying, it's really easy to say that Hawkins doesn't work. Who does? What makes your candidate right for CU. I am not trying to take away from the expansion talk. I have worn myself out searching for news about the expansion. I hope that CU is a member of the pac 10 or stays in the big 12. I don't care which as long as we start winning again.
We can't pick a new coach until we know what happens with expansion.
If we land in the PAC we can greatly expand our coaching search due to the increased tv $ that we will end up getting.
If we land in the MWC we can start our coaching search by interviewing high school assistant head coaches from teams that play 8 man football. If we end up in the MWC the HC job will pay $17.50/hour plus free use of the weight room/showers, and an unlimited meal plan that can be used at any of the campus dining halls.
Turner Gill might be looking for new opp to play BCS ball...
wildcard sleeper coach for cheap pick: Larry Fedora
loved his O at OSU, has Texas ties, Big XII ties, ties in the talent-rich south....and spent a year ar AFA as QB coach.
you know what, if we join the Pac and Hawk does indeed earn a termination that actually happens.....in the big view, maybe keeping Hawk the extra year works in our advantage....since with newly minted Pac money we are in a different hiring bracket money-wise than last November, maybe.
Fedora would be a GREAT choice. Saw him up close down here and he's a real leader of men and smart coach.
Probably depends very much if the athletic budget is in the neighborhood of $20 million or $8 million.
In other words, what conference are we in?
I never thought that I would say this, but maybe, just maybe, the decision to retain Hawk will work out in CU's favor. I would have to think that CU looks more attractive to the coaching pool with a move to the Pac.
Frank Solich is available.
Yes, I just quoted myself. I made this post back in June! This Paul guy is looking pretty damn good right now eh?
Not bad not bad at all.
