Latest Boyle Article

just finished reading from rssbot's thread (her avatar is hotter than yours).

Boyle isn't happy. he's putting it on himself to "be smart enough" to recognize what needs to change. great. but, the article would've been stronger with a few player quotes as well. does Scott feel that Boyle was too easy on players? what are Collier's thoughts about Boyle being more involved in off-season practices?

From the article

More than anything, Boyle said he learned this year that he needs to be more firm with this current group of players, who didn't have the work ethic or the self-discipline of some of his past teams.

"I thought I was too easy on the guys," he said. "I don't think I demanded enough, and that's got to change."

I hope he includes basic practice. I was able to observe just one practice, but it was very low intensity most of the time, until the last 20 minutes or so when they played a scrimmage - then it picked up. It happened to be Sunday afternoon when they had played a game the night before, so maybe that was intentional, but I was surprised at the lack of focus, almost dis-interest, displayed by many of the players. It looked more like a shoot around on a playground than a structured practice half of the time. Tad wasn't too involved, most of the practice was being run by a couple of assistants while he just kind of watched and made an occasional comment.
