Given that we have an idea of what Kiseau wants to run and given that the first 10-15 plays are usually scripted I thought it'd be a good idea to see what our perceptions of what we're going to do are against CSU. I don't know jack about coaching, but I figured that didn't stop our last OC. *OUCH*
Play 1:
Split backs formation with Hawkins at QB and Greer as TE to the strong-side.
Scott is to the right of Hawkins and a little in of Speedy who is to the left. One of our bigger WRs over 200# to the strong-side, about 10 yards right of Givens. Simas 6 yards left of Solder.
The play sets up nicely for a pitch to Speedy with Greer, the WR and Scott as blockers.
Upon hiking the ball Greer goes on a seam route. The WR on a post-route over the middle. Simas on a go route. Scott goes to the flat. There is a play action to Speedy who fakes getting it and contains where Miller/Givens are (cuz a LB is probably headed his way that he'll need to cut block).
The first progression should be Simas, then the WR over the middle, Greer and lastly Scott.
Any help on this play is appreciated. I'm not sure about what Speedy should do after he fakes getting the ball. He should be a blocker, just not sure how to get him to the right place.
EDIT: If we decide to not make this a PA pass that's fine too. I just want to get our best guys on the field and attack them through the air. Show them it's coming in at all angles.
