To put this in perspective, Colorado is playing with less scholarship players than a division 1-AA(FCS) school. Colorado also has the 3rd youngest team in the country. Perfect storm if I've ever seen one. If we get to a bowl game this year, it may be Hawk's best coaching job ever. I've said it before, this is NOT normal, and most teams are NOT dealing with these issues. If people think otherwise, and expect business as usual, then they are either foolish, or willfully ignorant.

I don't know about his best coaching job ever. Maybe at CU since his body of work is not that impressive. However, was a team that most rational people would win 7 games with our schedule when healthy. We are a shell of that team and pulling bowl eligibility would be an accomplishment.
I count 109 on the roster
Less 10 on the injured/ineligable list
How does RS play into this math?
you mean back when Okie lite was a gimme at home?
A 1-A team is only allowed 85 scholarships. The rest on the roster are walk-ons. Colorado is on probation and missing 2 schollies(I think, somebody correct me if I am wrong). 1-AA teams are allowed 63 scholarships. Colorado has lost 14 for the year due to injuries, leaving team, and ineligibilty. Sprinkle in 4-5 on average per game missing due to lesser injury, and you have basically 21 scholarship athletes missing each game, leaving 64 athletes on scholarship. So we are basically playing with 1-AA numbers.
It's an interesting analysis, with a lense focused only on CU. Are CU's injuries & suspensions plus loss of scholly outliers among D-1 schools, or are there other schools that are similarly situated.
Injury/eligiblity is a part of the game. I hate to see this as an excuse for poor play.
