Let the speculation begin.
Hope he ends up outside the Big 12.
This is going down badly. I have been checking out the TT BBS. I never thought an admin. could screw things up as badly Jellyfish Benson, Dilbert DiStephano and Bohn, but TT proved me wrong.
If I were Adam James, I'd clear of not only Lubbock, but West Texas in general. The TT faithful are literally in lynch mob mode.
The people in charge of this decision are truly idiots.
I would be shocked if the kid whose father is apparently responsible for this isn't shunned by his teammates. Why fire a coach who is pretty much the only reason for your program being successful, over a debatable infraction? Stupid.
Good for everyone who has TT on their schedules, however.
Leach will get a good HC job somewhere guaranteed.
Maybe he'll sit a year and be available if Hawkins stubs his toe again.
I do not want him in the Big 12, CU included.
How sure are you about this BB?
Why not? He is the only coach in the conference who Hawkins has consistently beaten. i wish he coached every team in the B12.
Basically and take note, you cannot call college footbal players "pussies" anymore, you used to be able to do that but now one must have sensitivity training now. Leach was guilty of being old school and that is why he was fired. Funny, we make movies glorifying Bear Bryant's Junction Boys and yet now we fire coaches for locking kids up in a closet...lol
I think he would be a great choice for CU. He has an offense, can recruit and doesn't cost a fortune. Who cares if he thinks he's a pirate. At least he doesn't think he is a lunchpail.
Would rather have Al Golden.
Some emails from those associated with TT supporting Leach. http://dennis-dodd.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270202/19238949
dumb, dumb, dumb move by Tech. Nice for CU and the north though the south just got weaker.
Don't you think he would learn from this and become a better coach because of it? Geeez, it's not like the guy is a sadist. He's been at TT for how many years now without a major incident until now.
If he's so at odds with the administration, why did he get a new long term contract in February? Did it reduce his buyout?
 they want to kill him its epic hahahaha
I'd take Mike Leach in a heartbeat! :boxing:
TT BBS now posting AD Gerald Myers and Craig James home addresses.issed: This is getting ugly. I will be glued to my TV for the Alamo Bowl now.:wow:
Check the Craig James address thread, there's also one about the AD.
BTW, supposedly TT will raid Baylor and nab Briles.
hitler chimed in
Damn. They are even claiming they have cause.
I wonder what those "articles" are and wether they will hold up in court. I bet Pirate Mike has the last laugh in the end. :smile2:
Iteresting scenerio! Would'nt be surprised to see Briles take it if they offer. He would have alot more to work with at TT than Baylor.:dito:
ESPN mentioned that if they (TT) had kept Leach one more day, they would have had to fork over 800K to him. I wonder how much the cash payout figured into their decision?
This thing is way, way, way too early in the game for something to happen that fast. Briles is making good headway at Baylor. Its the first good coach they've had since the early 90s. I bet they spend the money to keep Briles away from TT. Tech has to act fast to save their recruiting class.
wasn't james part of smu when they went down? anyone know if he was getting paid at smu? also, time for hawk to start calling tech's recruits.
Craig James and Adam James phone numbers now posted. Mark my words, this will get out of hand.
That is why he was fired today. But really, this has been brewing for months. He embarrassed the university administration for months during the contract extension talks. It was never going to be a long-term relationship. Leach simply gave TT an out.
Briles is the most logical choice. TT alum, successful Texas high school coach, and experience of coaching at Tech under Leach.
