Multis Perform Well at Orediggers Early Bird

GOLDEN, Colo. — Jason DeWitt and Brittany Lewis finished first overall at Orediggers Early Bird Multi in the pentathlon and heptathlon, respectively, to record a successful first meet for the University of Colorado track program.

CU had four women finish in the top ten including Abrianna Torres, Mariah Slack and Ewelina Pena. Lewis finished with 3,707 points overall to lead the Buffs. Torres was just behind in second with 3,583 points. Slack (3,-041) and Pena (3,020) placed seventh and eighth, respectively.

“This was a great opportunity to get our feet wet for those new to the combined events and a chance to shake off the rust for our returners,” coach Lindsey Malone said. “I’m very pleased with our early season athletic accomplishments and I’m incredibly impressed with the team camaraderie. We have a tremendous group of individuals who truly appreciate the value of teamwork in every aspect of training.”
