Great women's results in detail.

And, looks like the men are on the course.

Anybody know how they score team points in skiing? If it is each team's top 5 like cross country, they have a problem. If it is top 2-3, they just crushed it.

There's only a max of 3 skiers per team per gender and specialty (Nordic or Alpine), and all of their finishes count for points (if they finish in the top 30). So, yes they killed it!

Looks like CU is still #2 after the Women's - and even further behind now given UU gained points in the Men's.

AWESOME results for all of the women Nordic skiers! (Unofficial live scoring shows 94 points for the Buffs.)

We needed that so badly. That's the type of performance that puts us back in the mix for winning the Natty.

Teams leading at the halfway point have won 11 of the last 17. Not looking great, but there's a chance. Especially with slalom.

JACKSON, N.H. — The University of Colorado ski team, buoyed by a strong performance from its women's cross country performers that also produced an individual national champion, moved up two spots into third place here Thursday at the midway point of the 64th annual Skiing Championships.

Utah took over the team lead with 301.5 points, comfortably ahead – for now – of defending national champion Denver (265) and Colorado (240). Montana State is a distant fourth (177) with Dartmouth (170) rounding out the top five. The leader at the midway point has won 11 of the last 16 titles; this is just the second time the Utes have led after four events since their last title in 2002; the other was two years ago when the Buffs overtook them for the crown, though Utah held just a 4-point edge then.

The next event – the slalom – is considered "moving day" in the sport, whereas the events of the third day as in a golf tournament often dictate the final result. The most treacherous of the four disciplines here, the slalom often makes or breaks the leaderboard and is something in the past CU has been able to utilize to take over the lead heading into the final day, doing so in 1999, 2006 and 2015 on its way to the title.

They're going to need to out-perform those ranks if the Buffs are going to make up the ground we need. Basically need all of them Top 15 if we want to have a shot tomorrow, I think.

I think that puts us in position if they have strong 2nd runs.

Happy for the individual Natty's, but seems like they really botched the first day

Kind of tough for the Buff women as they didn't have nearly as low a bib #/ starting position as the CU men. 2 of them did end up better than their bib #'s, while the other equaled hers, so the runs were at minimum solid. Hopefully with the reverse starting order of the 2nd run (slowest 1st run starts 1st, fastest 1st run starts last), the Buffs will be able to move up some.

Everything is relative to DU and UU. It looks like they have a chance to pick up points on both, but I'm not sure it is going to be enough - we will see in the second rounds.

Did we put 3 men in the Top 10? Looks like we might be damn close.

Looks like all 3 women way outperformed their BIBs. We may be gaining some more points here.

Looks like we did end up gaining some on Utah, while DU is going to gain quite a bit on both as the points winner of the women's slalom.

Nice job by the Buffs in the 2nd run, and congrats to Ms. Christensen on the 1st team All-American honors!

Can live with that, most definitely. What's vital here is that we pull Utah within striking distance with today's performances.
