This. AP still exists. UPI does not. Ergo, UPI championship does not exist.
Even back then, as today, AP was the one that mattered most. Still, I acknowledge not having both is unfortunate, and I can’t fully dismiss the UPI coaches poll.

Well yeah but the 12 games in a row doesn’t change that.
While I agree on the talent, getting boatraced on Halloween in Lincoln took care of that. Worst football game I've ever attended.

My math appears to be about as good as your punctuation.
I meant it as a statement not a rhetorical question. The period is acceptable in that case, whereas 800,000 is no where near 3/5 of 1.15 million which is 690,000.
