NCAA Football: Colorado at Washington State

James Snook-USA TODAY Sports

Sanders has already begun his recovery.

That can’t feel too great…

We finally know why Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders didn’t suit up for the Buffs’ season finale in Salt Lake City and it was for a very good reason. In a YouTube video posted on the Well Off Media channel, it was announced that Shedeur suffered a fractureed back during Week 11 at Washington State. Shedeur was taken off the field against the Cougars after taking a sack in the second quarter, which we now know was the hit that caused the injury.

Shedeur was the most sacked QB in the country with a total of 52, so it was inevitable that taking such a beating would catch up with him. The good news is that it sounds like things aren’t all that serious. In that same YouTube video, Colorado’s star quarterback said he is feeling good although he can’t throw a football currently. Shedeur is more than likely to be good to go for the 2024 season and will look as good as new. The bad news is that fracturing your spine has got to hurt. Shedeur perfectly embodied what it means to be a Buffalo this season with his grit and determination while fighting injuries to stay on the field.

All of us Colorado fans are wishing that Shedeur has a speedy and smooth recovery.
