Recruiting News - Olympic Sports

Still trying to figure out- I also found this Zuri Smith's (Note- shows as a 2016 HS Grad) stats on maxpreps from Sumter South Carolina- http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/zuri-smith/IYggsPTrEeKZ5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/volleyball-stats.htm.

Is it the same Zuri Smith (splitting time between Vegas and South Carolina)? If not, could she (also showing as a TALL (6'4") player) be the Buff recruit?
(Interesting Zuri must be a relatively common name nowadays. There's also a Zuri Smith already playing collegiate volleyball at Morgan State U..)

50/50 Aztec. It's looking like you got the home town right but Rich Kern got the year right.
Checking the rosters of the school and club listed by Rich Kern for her in Las Vegas, there is no Zuri Smith listed. But there is a Zuri Smith, as you pointed out, in Sumter SC. And on the video I looked at, the person pointed to as Zuri is wearing the number that matches the Sumter roster listing for her.
From South Carolina but coming in this year confirmed to me by a source I trust.

Edit: But now I found a video where she is playing for LV Impact, the Las Vegas club. Man this one is confusing !!!!

Thanks so much for the follow up. I'll add her, along with Ms. D'Agosta, to the OP list of commitments.

Sounds like it will definitely be interesting to hear Ms. Smith's story when (I assume) the cubuffs.com article comes out when she formally signs. (Looks like April 15th is when the "normal" signing period begins for 2015 arrivals.) In addition to maxpreps showing her as a 2016 class person, I even later found her on Sumter HS's own roster for volleyball and basketball (http://sumterathletics.org/main/teamroster/id/72264/seasonid/344186 , http://sumterathletics.org/main/teamroster/id/72269/seasonid/166676), and they show her as only being a junior also. (Also looks like she might still be growing- 6'2" in the volleyball roster; 6'3" on basketball's!)

Being this late in the year for next year's commits, hope this also does't mean the coaches recently heard the Buffs are losing anyone to transfer (assuming of course she's receiving a scholarship, and volleyball didn't already have an extra one available).

So, as mentioned in earlier posts, Buffs volleyball has picked up a couple commitments recently, we think both for next year. Just to summarize the above posts, as well as provide what other information I know (or think I know- corrections always appreciated)-

Zuri Smith is joining the Buffs, we THINK from Sumter High School in Sumter, South Carolina, and maybe the Las Vegas Impact Volleyball Club. As Bebe’s and my earlier posts indicate, we don’t have a lot of information on Ms. Smith yet, and much of it is confusing. It appears she’s somewhere between 6’1” (per maxpreps) and 6’5” (BeBe’s earlier post). Per her team’s stats in maxpreps.com (http://www.maxpreps.com/high-school...ocks-(sumter,sc)/volleyball-fall-14/stats.htm), I’m just guessing she was mainly used as a middle blocker on her high school team, due to the large number of blocks she had (82- next highest on team 13), and the fact that she had hardly any digs or serve receives. In addition to blocks, she also led her team in kills (3.1/set) and hitting % (.381). (Maxpreps has her listed as both an Outside Hitter and Middle.)

Abbie D’Agosta is joining the Buffs from Fossil Ridge HS in Ft. Collins and the NORCO Volleyball Club. Confirmation of her commitment from her club is here- http://www.norcovolleyball.com/news_article/show/488448?referrer_id=219437. (Interesting that a local club fell victim to the CU must = “Colorado University” error.) Per http://www.maxpreps.com/high-school...fort-collins,co)/volleyball-fall-14/stats.htm , the 5’8” Ms. D’Agosta was a versatile Outside Hitter for her team, finishing 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in her team in both kills per set (2.3) and digs, with a very strong 3.7 per set. Per the fun (for volleyball fans) premium website prepvolleyball.com, Ms. D’Agosta just this year started playing as the libero on her club team (which qualified for nationals in the recent Denver Crossroads tournament), and my assumption is defense will likely be her anticipated role for the Buffs.

General roster note- This defensive support from Ms. D’Agosta, along with the previously listed (in this thread) verbal commit Gabriella Carta-Samuels, could be extra helpful next year. I recently noticed this year’s sophomore Katherine Hawkins and junior Erin Taylor, 2 of the 4 defensive specialists/ liberos on the team roster last year (both lightly used - partly I believe due to illness and/ or injury), are not showing up on the 2015 roster at cubuffs.com. Assuming that just isn’t an error, the Buffs look thin in known defensive support depth for next year (only 2 non-freshmen), so the 2 incoming freshmen will have a chance to come in and help immediately as backups and competition to the returning Cierra Simpson and Gwen Herring. In fact, just based on the numbers (the 2013 roster had 7 defensive specialists on the roster), I wouldn't be shocked if another one or two more currently unknown defensive specialists end up on the roster when the season starts.

Of course, one or more of the hitters on the roster could also provide support in the defensive area, either being plugged in as defensive specialists (as Stephanie Shadley (only a freshman this year) and Kelsey English were sometimes used this year), or with the chosen starters improving their defense so one (actually- that's almost always a minimum) or more can pretty consistently play all 6 rotations.

2 commitments- one each in lacrosse and track and field

A couple more Buff commitments have popped up in the databases/ websites I frequent for certain sports, one in lacrosse and one in track and field.

Lacrosse- From the laxpower.com database, Louisa Benson becomes the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] commit in a row I’ve heard about for lacrosse that currently goes to school at (and plays for) Kent Denver. She also plays for the "Team 180 Sports" lacrosse club in Denver (http://www.team180sports.com/). Per Maxpreps (http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/kent-denver-sun-devils-(englewood,co)/girls-lacrosse/stats.htm) and laxpower, Ms. Benson will be part of the class starting in 2016, and is a defender. I am wondering if she’s purely playing defense this year in high school, however, as her stats show her with 4 goals in 3 early season games already, which is as many goals as she scored all last year. (Maybe she’s moved to the midfield?)

(Note- laxpower.com has now started publishing its 2017 database, so I have made the presentation of 2017 commitments in the original post consistent with how the 2015 and 2016 classes were being listed. Laxpower only has the 3 same commitments for 2017 I’d already noted in this thread, so no new commits to report about yet for that year.)

Track and Field- Multi-event (assume plans to be a decathlete. heptathlete?) athlete Nathan Gravelding from Lakewood High school committed to join the Buffs in 2015 per http://www.milesplit.com/signings . Per http://co.milesplit.com/teams/lake/records , he MAY*** going into his senior year already hold Lakewood High’s records in the 1,000M, 110M and 60M hurdles, High jump, javelin, decathlon and heptathlon. (***The webpage says “These records are based on the MileSplit database and may not contain all historical data.”, so don’t know how comprehensive the results are for other past Lakewood athletes who might have had better results in some of those events.) I also found a few results in maxpreps (http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/nat...Z5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/track-field-stats.htm ).

Welcome and congrats to both committing to the Buffs!

Per http://chsaanow.com/2014-04-08/2015...&cpipage=4&CPISortType=asc&CPIorderBy=College , looks like the Buffs men's track and field team had another early signing for next year which I hadn't seen or posted in this thread before.

From that source, welcome to Dionne Taylor coming on board as a Buffalo next year!

Mr. Taylor is a (high, long and triple) jumper, and will be coming to Boulder from Pine Creek HS in Colorado Springs. Per his stats at http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/dio...Z5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/track-field-stats.htm :

1) Looks like the high jump has been his best event, as he came in 3rd as a junior at last years 5A State Championships with a 6'7" jump. It looks like he's also set up for a potential great senior season, as he's already set a new personal record of 6'9" ~1-1/2 months before this year's state meet. (The winner last year, a senior, won with a 6'8" jump.)

2) It also looks like he could be in the mix for scoring at this year's state championship in the long jump, as he very impressively has already improved his career best jump from 20'11" last year to 22'0" this year in his only 2015 meet showing in maxpreps for the event. (Looks like in last year's state championships, 22'8.5" won the championships, while Mr. Taylor's 22'0 jump earlier this year would already have been good for 5th place.)

2) Also look like's he's shown great improvement in the triple jump and could earn his high school team points in that event if he continues to improve, having already improved his personal record from 41'5" last year to 43' 1.75" early in this track season. (Last year, the shortest triple jump in the state championships earning points was 43'11.5" (for 9th place).)

Bebe- at least my confusion as to how Ms. Smith (evidently @Reinnaa_Z in twitter) could be coming to Boulder this coming year is clearing up some-

[tweet]582299085496942592[/tweet]

Once again, welcome to her coming to Boulder!

Well, that takes care of the 2015 vs 2016 part of the puzzle. Still curious how she seems to live in South Carolina but seems to play for a club team in Las Vegas.

CU Volleyball has a new commitment to report. Jaden Newsome (2017) is a 5'9" setter from Clear Brook High in TX.

http://www.avatexas.com/news_article/show/497229?referrer_id=1442399

Here are some stats and an accolade.

http://www.avatexas.com/news_article/show/492831?referrer_id=1442399

Congrats Jaden! Looking forward to seeing you on the volleyball court in a couple of years. Go Buffs!!!

MOBuff- thanks so much. One of my twitter searches had also JUST found a tweet from her club announcing the commitment. I'll add Ms. Newsome to the original post as the Buff's 1st known 2017 volleyball commit.

I may list her at 5'11" or 6'0". Both maxpreps (http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jad...OZ5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/volleyball-stats.htm) and hudl (http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2833962/jaden-newsome) shows her at 6'0", while her club has her at 5'11" (http://www.avatexas.com/roster_players/6292979?subseason=190600). And, in two videos I could find, she seemed to be relatively tall.

(Anyone interested- see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HofeuyB3beY for a short (~2 minute) interview with her from last summer and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vj9WgscVIs for a 13:45 video of her playing on her club team from a year or so ago. Also, the Hudl link above seems to have 3 other videos of her playing with her high school team; based on the dates those must be from her freshman season.)

Rich Kern's site also lists Jaden at 6'. Sounds like she had a growth spurt since her freshman year.

Isiaiah Oliver and Danielle Jones updates

As was mentioned in his longer football thread (http://www.allbuffs.com/showthread.php/102518-15-AZ-ATH-Isaiah-Oliver-(Verbal-to-COLORADO), one of the new football verbal commitments, Isiaiah Oliver from Brophy College Prep School in Phoenix, AZ, is also a hurdler, and plans to also run track while at CU.

To echo the sentiments on that football recruiting thread- welcome to the Buffs Mr. Oliver!

His track stats can be found here- http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3913737. Per those:

1) His main event is the 300M hurdles, in which he finished 2nd last year in the Division I Arizona State Championships Meet.

2) Actually, looks like he maybe also has/ had aspirations of being a decathlete, as he had competed in one. However, assume all the time it takes to excel at those divergent skills won't be practical while at CU, at least while he's playing football. (Although, I guess I shouldn't say it's impossible- a few unique people have been able to do some seemingly extraordinary things (I'd assume mainly time management gurus and/ or geniuses) as student athletes.)

(Just as an example of what's possible athletically for two sport athletes, Buff track and football fans can only hope that Mr. Oliver has near the success as a two sport athlete that Oregon's Devon Allen (also from AZ) has. Mr. Allen is the Duck's #2 receiver this year in both receptions and yards, as well as being last year's NCAA outdoor track champion in the (shorter) 110M hurdles.)

Just an update- not surprising, but did find an interview from last week with Mr. Olliver confirming it doesn't sound like he plans on training seriously on the decathlon once college starts given the time demands of football (http://az.milesplit.com/articles/149511-isaiah-oliver-running-with-the-buffaloes#.VSLXnvnF_nh). It does sound like he will be working hard in decathlon with some big goals through this summer, so he should be in great shape for football when practices start this August.

Looks like his hurdling and running in general keeps improving. As was also mentioned in his football recruiting thread, he holds this year's best high school times in the nation (admittedly EARLY in the season) in both the 300M hurdles and 400M run (per http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/).

It will be interesting to see how the Buff male hurdlers progress going forward as it looks like, in addition to current Buffs, they're picking up 3 solid ones in this 2015 class in Mr. Olliver, along with (also covered in this thread) Trenton Stringari from Cañon City (currently better in the 300M hurdles) and Alex Billing from Simi Valley CA (currently better in the 110M hurdles).

_______________________________

And, while talking track and field stars from Arizona, wanted to mention that, per the same http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/ link noted above, incoming Buff Danielle (Dani) Jones (from Phoenix's Desert Vista HS) is showing with the best women's high school times in the nation so far this year in the 800M and 1600M.

Looks like the Buffs have picked up another track and field commitment, this time from a shot putter.

[tweet]539655184192774145[/tweet]

Mr. Swanson is from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, (Southern) California. His stats can be found here- http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=4148108 .

Welcome to him!

(As it mentions in the tweet, Mr. Swanson is a two sport athlete in high school. Looked quick, and he was also an All (Mission) League defensive lineman this year. (Buff football verbal commitment and his current teammate Aaron Haigler tweeted out congrats.) Between him, Cañon City hurdler/ running back Trenton Stringari and whoever else may already be on the T&F team, everyone other than the football team may want to avoid pick-up football games with the track and field team next year!)

Mr. Swanson is the 1st one I've found via twitter search who's now officially signed to join the Buffs during this 1st day of the NCAA's "regular" signing period (for all Olympic sports except soccer). Once again, best wishes to him at CU!

[tweet]588408008620711936[/tweet]

And 2 more volleyball players previously discussed in this thread are now officially signed as incoming Buffs. Welcome to both!

Looks like a new (to this thread) sprinter signed yesterday to join the Buffs next year- Gabby Scott from Westview High School in San Diego. Welcome to her!

[tweet]588550877482356736[/tweet]

Per her results at http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=5118213 , looks like the 400M has been her main race (2nd in the San Diego sectional and 20th at state last year, 7th in her section of the Arcadia Invite this past week with a new personal best time), but she also runs the 200M quite a bit.

As she's not on the roster yet, I thought it would be appropriate to post the great news here that incoming soccer player Alex Vidger from Castle Rock has been selected to join the U-20 national team camp along with 23 other players, many of whom are already in college. Alex can play either as a center back or just in front of the back line as a defensive midfielder.

http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=210029004

Nice find Section 108. Looks like she has been committed to CU for a while. Go Buffs!

http://www.coloradostorm.com/Default.aspx?tabid=409251&mid=433588&newskeyid=HN1&newsid=34068&ctl=newsdetail

Yep- it's been awhile, but always fun to get new links. (She's already in the original post of this thread where all the known recruits get listed/ accumulated by sport, although only with her formal name Elizabeth used rather than Libby. Since she does seem to go by Libby, I'll add that nickname to her line in the soccer list.)

New soccer commitment- Kennedy Yost from Utah

I can’t find other confirmation, but Per Topdrawersoccer.com (http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/coll...women/colorado/clgid-205/tab-commitments#tabs), looks like the soccer team may have picked up a new commitment for 2016, Kennedy Yost, a forward with the Utah Avalanche soccer club and 4A Woods Cross High School in Woods Cross, UT. (Per http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/girls-commitments:-western-trends_aid33717 and a couple of the articles linked to below, looks like she previously committed to Oregon.)

Goal stats for her from this past high school year (Averaged 1.78 goals per game)- http://www.deseretnews.com/sports/high-school/player/stats/134185/4/Kennedy-Yost-girls-soccer

Short write-up for her related to being named “All-Tribune” for her past high school season (Note- this link lists her as a senior, but with topdrawersoccer showing her in the 2016 class, and even the Tribune in the below All-State list listing her as a junior, I'll assume she is a 2016 arrival.)- http://www.sltrib.com/sports/1945597-155/prep-girls-soccer-all-tribune-team

Her being listed as 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Team All-State in the 4A division- http://www.sltrib.com/tribpreps/1962069-155/girls-soccer-coaches-all-state-teams?fullpage=1

Article about her 1st high school season in Utah, and a little bit about her decision to move, etc. (Evidently went to Century High School in Pocatello ID prior to moving to Utah this past year)- http://www.standard.net/Sports/2014/10/27/Woods-Cross-soccer-player-brings-unique-determination

(The start of that article-

"
WOODS CROSS — Kennedy Yost might have been new to the Utah high school girls soccer scene this past season, but she certainly wasn’t new to Utah.

The Woods Cross High junior had spent the previous year and a half traveling to Utah from Pocatello, Idaho in order to compete on club soccer teams against the best talent possible.
...
"

Best of luck to her both athletically and academically with the Buffs when she arrives, and in her year + left in high school!

The Arizona State High School Track and Field Championships had been going over the last few days, and after their completion yesterday, there were some VERY impressive performances by a couple incoming Buffs, both in the highest (D1) division. Between the 2 of them, they won 7 of the 7 races they were involved in:

1) Incoming middle distance/ distance runner Danielle (Dani) Jones won all 4 events she was entered in, winning the 1600M and 800M on Wednesday (both by over 3 seconds, with her sister (sophomore) Baylee finishing 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the 1600), and then anchored her Desert Vista team’s winning 4X800M relay team to a U.S. 2015 #1 time in her 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Saturday race. To finish her meet, she took the 3200M crown by 18 seconds Saturday evening, again with her sister finishing in 2[SUP]nd[/SUP].

Article about the overall girls’ meet here- http://www.azcentral.com/story/spor...ourth-win-in-girls-state-track-meet/27076163/ .

~6 minute video interview with Ms. Jones here- http://www.dyestat.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=44531&do=videos&video_id=144316 .

(Per http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Division/Top.aspx?DivID=59640 (not sure if that’s the best source or not?), Ms. Jones currently shows with the #2 national time this year in the 800M, is #1 at 1600M and #3 at 3200M. I assume part of the reason for those high rankings may have to do with Arizona’s relatively early season (California’s state championships are still a month away, for example), but very impressive in any case.)

2) Incoming football player and hurdler Isaiah Oliver won both of his individual events earlier on Saturday, winning a close one in the 110M hurdles (by .07 seconds), and following up with a pretty dominating ~1.5 second win in the 300M hurdles. Then, he ended up the night by anchoring his team’s 4X400M relay to what sounds like may have been a come from behind win.

Article on the Boy’s meet here- http://www.azcentral.com/story/spor...-division-state-track-championships/27076167/ .

~3 minute video interview with Mr. Oliver here http://www.dyestat.com/gprofile.php...a-Division-I-State-Championships-2015-DyeStat .

(Per the same source listing national bests' noted above, Mr. Oliver currently holds the #2 time this year nationally in the 300M.)

Congrats to both for the great meets!

New 2017 volleyball commitment- Defensive Specialist Madeline Flora

Looks like the volleyball team may have picked up their 2nd 2017 commitment (and 2nd from the same club) in Madeline Flora, a 5'1" defensive specialist from the Absolute Volleyball Acadamy (ACA) of (Houston) TX, and Clear Lake High School in Houston. She joins setter Jaden Newsome (whose commitment is discussed in posts #69 and 70 of this thread) in committing from ACA to join CU for the 2017/18 school year.

[tweet]599733002743128064[/tweet]

A couple links I found re Ms. Flora-

High school stats from Maxpreps (hard to tell much so far since she's only just completed her sophomore year)- http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/mad...KZ5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/volleyball-stats.htm

A Homepage for her from her high school team including a few photos, very short (showing 2 points) highlight videos, and links to a few team articles (Note- Looks like they'll need to change her school of interest- listed as the U. of Tulsa on the webpage)- http://www.clearlakevolleyball.org/#!maddie-flora/cgci

Best wishes to her in her junior and senior high school years, and congrats for committing to the Buffs!

Newly found 2015/16 lacrosse signee- Miranda Stinson

The laxpower database ( http://www.laxpower.com/recruits/re...`College`+like+'%colorado%'+order+by+`ID`+asc ) is showing a new 2015 addition to the lacrosse team- Miranda Stinson, a 5’4” Offensive Midfielder from Trinity Episcopal School in Richmond Virginia .
A few things found about her:

Looks like she did already sign to join the Buffs in the early signing period (Last November) per her school’s website (which also includes a picture of her at the signing ceremony)- http://www.trinityes.org/podium/default.aspx?t=204&nid=948380

Also, from her school’s website (http://www.trinityes.org/AthleticsNews), “Miranda Stinson '15 participated in the US Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament this summer. From there, she was selected for the US Women's U19 Team trials. At the end of July, Miranda headed to Baltimore to compete in the second round of the process with the top 112 high school players in the country in a three-day tryout. ”

Per http://www.insidelacrosse.com/artic...rclass-games-d-c-girls-roster-announced/28750 , at a high level tryout to represent the DC area in the “2014 Under Armour Underclass Lacrosse Tournament”, she was one of only 3 players singled out for special mention as being impressive- “Miranda Stinson - Dominated on the attacking end, creating midfield transition plays for other cutters and challenging 1v1 successfully. Fast, athletic, and poised.”

She was named a US Lacrosse All-American last year- http://toplaxrecruits.com/group-2-girls-uslacrosse-all-americans-are-released/

A few video highlights here- http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3856990/miranda-stinson

Looks like one of the Buff's 2016 soccer verbal commitments, Taylor Kornieck, "a midfielder for the Las Vegas Premier U16 ECNL team," is definitely getting noticed as a soccer player to watch at the youth level.

First, I just noticed she sometime ago went from being a 3 star to 4 star recruit per topdrawersoccer.com's ratings.

In addition, there's an article on the same website about her being named the "TopDrawerSoccer.com Academy female Player of the Week" a couple weeks ago ( http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club...-kornieck-earn-academy-potw-plaudits_aid36496 ) . Quoting the full paragraph explaining the honor-

"As recently as last summer, Kornieck was starring for the San Diego Surf U15 team as its ticking heartbeat in the midfield. Her technician’s brain mixed with her uncommon length earned her TDS Best XI honors for her performance at the ECNL finals last year, where the Surf won the U15 national title. Now, Kornieck is finishing her club career in Las Vegas with LV Premier, and she’s picking up where she left off. In 20 matches this season she has 19 goals and seven assists, which means she’s been involved in all but one goal the team’s scored all season. Her hat trick last week accounted for 100 percent of the team’s scoring, as LV Premier coasted past a quality So Cal Blues team to keep hold of the last playoff spot out of the Southwest Conference. "

Also, I think this may have already been posted somewhere on allbuffs, but since I can't find it, wanted to mention a month or so there was another article in topdrawersoccer that noted Ms. Kornieck was one of "24 players called in to U.S. U18 WNT camp" ( http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/24-players-called-in-to-us-u18-wnt-camp_aid36374 ).

Kornieck was one of "24 players called in to U.S. U18 WNT camp" ( http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/club-soccer-articles/24-players-called-in-to-us-u18-wnt-camp_aid36374 ).

Sanchez & Co. seem to have the recruiting aspect of the program figured out :). Really, in women's soccer things are going well in this department. I pointed out a while ago that the group that's coming in this fall is - on paper - the best recruiting class in school history. Now they appear to be building on the with the class of '16.

Seeing that Korniek is one of 24 invited to the U-18 national team camp shows the quality of her play on the pitch. BTW, she's listed at 6-1 on the US Soccer site, that's very tall for a midfielder, although on the sire she's listed as a defender.

New track and field signees- Lauren and Rachel Sharpe

Looks like the Buff’s women’s track and field team has signed its second set of twins*** to join the team next year, with the new signees being Lauren and Rachel Sharpe from Niwot High School. The article reporting on the Sharpes’ signing is at http://www.bocopreps.com/schools/ad...ng-day-niwots-sharpe-sisters-make-it-official . (***The Sharpes join the Mann sisters from Monarch HS, who signed last November to also join the Buffs this coming year.)

From the article, sounds like both Sharpes are interested in being heptathletes once they join the Buffs.

Here is an article describing Niwot winning the recent 4A state championships- http://www.lhvc.com/index.php/sports/835-niwot-girls-track-three-peats . From that, looks like the Sharpes’ mainly contributed by being part of 1st (the win in the 4X200M also set a state meet record time), 2nd and 3rd place finishes in three relays, with Rachel also earning individual points with a 5th place finish in the 400M. Their coach also noted in the article they were THE team leaders this year.

Lauren Sharpe’s performance history is at http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/lau...ebBJg/gendersport/girls-track-field-stats.htm , while Rachel’s is at http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/rac...ebBJg/gendersport/girls-track-field-stats.htm .

Welcome and congrats to the Sharpes for joining the Buffs!
