According to Cal High Sports, California LB Woodson Greer has verbally committed to the University of Colorado. Greer visited Boulder this past weekend and was deciding between Colorado, Arizona St., Michigan and San Diego St..

Rivals.com lists Greer as a 3* and the 99th ranked player in the state of California. As a junior, he had 140 tackles and 11.5 sacks. Scout ranks him as the #48th OLB in the country. Greer is the eighth known verbal commitment of the 2011 class for Jon Embree.

Scout.com says "Greer shows flashes of good downhill production and overall ability at linebacker. From a measurables standpoint he lacks prototypical inside linebacker size and outside linebacker speed. Overall, Greer has good toughness, strength and explosion looked for in a linebacker prospect but is limited athletically in certain areas." and Scott Kennedy from Scout.com says he has "good size to play inside or outside linebacker, Greer has excellent acceleration that allows him to shoot the gap on a delayed blitz or beat a running back to the edge. Attacks the ball carrier on contact and finishes his tackles well."

Cal High Sports had this to say about the Serra high school product:

A home visit sealed the deal for Greer who texted Cali High Sports Monday morning saying "I have just committed to the University of Colorado!"

Greer is a huge add to the rebuilding Buffaloes who are moving to the Pac 12 next season. At 6'2 220 pounds Greer has ideal size for an outside linebacker and is a force in the pass rush. He has great speed and can really beat his man around the edge and a penchant for contact that you can't teach. Greer is a guy who could come in and contribute right away for the Buffaloes.

Colorado was a great school overall but the thing that set them apart from the rest was there coaching staff and support system," Greer told Cali High. "85% of them went to and played for Colorado and a lot of them played in the NFL so they know how the process goes and can relate to me personally," Greer said.
