There is a fine line between disciplinarian hard ass, and the coach people hate to play for. If the coach has a ton of respect, he can get closer to that line. The question here is whether the kitties respect HCRP. The fact that players are discussing a topic HCRP forbad them from, in the media, leads me to believe HCRP is about to lose his team.
HCRP may be bat**** crazy, but he is entertainig, and the guy can beat UT...
He may have trouble just getting juco kids after this. Who would want to play for him if they had a choice to go somewhere else?
Huh? How is this all that bad? Coaches do stuff like this all the time. Their performance WAS horrendous.
A real coach would wait until the next day and make the entire team do them as it was a team loss.
I haven't read about any other coach in the recent past giving his defense 38 gassers at 3AM. A real coach would wait until the next day and make the entire team do them as it was a team loss.
Valid point on the whole team. The timing I don't think matters tho.I haven't read about any other coach in the recent past giving his defense 38 gassers at 3AM. A real coach would wait until the next day and make the entire team do them as it was a team loss.

I bet it does to recruits.
:yeahthat:
In college, we had a freshman pitcher fall asleep in the dugout during a game. The following day at practice, we did all our regular conditioning and then the coach brought us all down the LF line and told us what happened and then told us we were going to run until someone threw up. And we did.
Good times... But I agree that's the way to do it. You're all in it together, for better or worse. And nobody fell asleep in the dugout ever again.:smile2:
Guess he watched "Miracle" recently, or read about it in a coaching 101 seminar. Herb Brooks did this to Team USA after a lethargic effort against Sweden back in the day.
Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but didn't Prince do something similar a year or 2 ago? I don't recall the details other than it was something unusual like this - like he made the coaches run stairs or something.
