Spring game - April 22, 2023 - LIVE ON ESPN

a few guys look legit. if we can right upfront, holy **** this might go really well really fast.
Offensively we might be… scary? We’ve got 5 impact WRs not out there today. Weaver,
Hopkins, Miller, Tyson, and Gaines. TE, not sure what’s up with Traore. No sign of him.

Also, no sign of Deion Smith.

I have no idea what this is or has been but I am all for CU having a two hour showcase where they can essentially do whatever they please on ESPN at this time of the year.
This was about Deion Sanders.

He's a big enough star that he gets his own 30 for 30 playing right now on ESPN. NFL HOF, MLB all-star.

And that is just the start. He not only was among the best players but he did it with style, did it with flash, became Prime Time. Became the guy that fans loved/hated and kids wanted to be.

Then when he retired from his career as a player he became the broadcaster/media figure and his words flowed like he did on the field.

Now he is a coach, a coach who made an underfunded HBCU program a national story before moving on to CU, one of the worst programs in college football.

ESPN was in Boulder today because they knew it would be a show. They didn't know exactly what they would get but they knew that he would give them something more interesting that whatever else they would have put on in that time slot.

How did we all feel it went compared to prior years?
Cracking Up Lol GIF

True Frosh Ryan Staub. The kid's got "IT". I wasn't onboard at first, but you can tell he's put in the off field work since he got here. He can run this offense!
I was impressed by Staub. Been on campus for 3 months. Should be coasting through the end of HS right now and already looks leagues better that the 2021 & 2022 CU quarterbacks.

Stood next to Savion Washington by accident for a few minutes after the game. I felt like a child next to him, my word. I haven’t felt short since the 3rd grade but I did today lol.

My only disappointment was the lack of TEs. Thought it was a cool wrinkle on the first series when Dylan Edwards broke off a run, then lined up at wideout, but we had another back move into the backfield.

Sat next to a junior football team and their coaches from DFW. They made the drive up and loved it. They couldn’t believe how pleasant it was despite what the temperature said and they were raving about the mountain backdrop. I’d say 60% of the kids had CU gear of some sort.
