Pretty sure most doctors would agree that the tibia and fibula are part of the ankle.

If the bones are fractured on the distal end, near the foot - they are part of the ankle.

There is no bone called the "ankle". The "ankle" is a joint which is comprised of many bones - the tibia and fibula being two of them.

Well...you got me. I'm no ****ing doctor. I was more amused with him putting his leg up on the table to point out the bones.

He's close enough, though it is funny he threw his leg on the table. I once broke and dislocated my ankle with such force it also fractured the fibula right below the knee. Two surgeries and four screws later, I can confirm both Halliday and Treadwell are in for some not so good times coming up.

Wrong again. The ankle bone connects the foot bone to the leg bone. Please tell me you are not a CU grad.

So, what I have learned here is when I broke my Tib Fib at the knee it was really a high ankle sprain. I now understand why people always say a high ankle sprain is bad. That bone sticking out of my leg really hurt!
