BOULDER—The University of Colorado volleyball team will host a black and gold scrimmage on Saturday, August 23, at 3 p.m. on the main court of the Coors Events Center. It is free and open to the public.

The scrimmage will wrap-up CU’s fall camp, which started on August 10. During that time, the Buffs trained for a week at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

CU was picked seventh in the Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll and senior outside hitter Taylor Simpson was named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team. The Buffs also received votes in the AVCA Division I Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Buffs will open their 2014 season August 29-30 at the Northern Illinois Invitational in DeKalb, Ill. The home portion of the schedule kicks off Sept. 5-6 with the Omni Hotels Colorado Volleyball Classic. Season tickets for home matches can be purchased online at CUBuffs.com for $25 or by calling 303-49-BUFFS. Children 12 and under are free this year.

We'll be there! Hoping to see good defense and that they have the skills to replace their 2 graduated backcourt stalwarts of last season along with consistent good play from the offense.
