Washington State V. COLORADO - P12 Tournament GAME THREAD

This is the kind of dominating performance we've been waiting for since the start of conference play. Very promising.

Way to go Buffs!

A VERY efficient effective pro solid "get er dun" kind of job today.

We haven't destroyed a team in the First Round like this before. We've won every game, but they've all been close games with the exception of beating Utah 53-41 in 2012...and even that one had Utah within range

Satisfying win. Lots of good efforts today. Bring on the cats.....

GK really carries himself like a leader. So impressive.

Phew ... no nerves on Sunday.

Good win. But we'll need much more out of Wes and Josh tomorrow. Would love us to see us force the committee to give us a 6 or 7.

Who the hell knows what the committee will do to us since we're an invisible western team, but hide our name and show our numbers and this is a 7 seed. 8 at worst.

Good job, dominated most of the game and no letdowns. Josh and wes gonna have to be better tomorrow.

And Utah was worse in 2012 than WSU is this season.

45.5% from the field (30/66), 40% from deep (10/25)

Won the battle of the boards 43-32

17 assists, 10 turnovers

GK 21 pts 4 reb
Fortune 13 pts NO TURNOVERS
Tory 8 pts, 7 reb
XT 8 pts 4 reb
Akyazili 7 pts
Josh 6 pts 5 reb 5 assists
Dom 6 pts
Fletch 6 pts 3 reb
Wes 2 pts 7 reb 3 assists
Brady 3 pts 1 reb

Talk about spread out. Sounds weird, but it's encouraging that none of our numbers were particularly crazy. We crushed them without having some lightning in a bottle shooting performance. Just a really solid effort of an NCAA Tournament team imposing itself on a lesser opponent.

Rest matters a bunch, actually. 5-10 minutes of rest can be the difference between folding in the final few tomorrow

Still amazes me that that 2012 team won four games in four days. Three by one or two points. Much weaker field, though.

The resume issue tonight is UCLA. Their woeful performances after realizing they wouldn't get an at-large bid has them down to 98. We want them to beat USC and remain top 100. The committee obviously isn't going to view UCLA as some sort of horrendous loss regardless, but the no sub-100 losses aspect of our resume is a nice thing to have. Thankfully if there's one opponent UCLA will get up for in this situation, it's USC...and it's never easy to beat a team 3 teams, especially your rival.
