"We are thrilled that Janea is a Buff now," Payne said. "She is someone that we have wanted to be a Colorado Buffalo for a long time now. We knew from the beginning that her strengths as a basketball player, combined with her tenacity on the court, would be a huge asset to our program. Janea is a strong and physical player who will be a great asset to our post corps next season. She is a fun, loving personality and will be someone that Buff fans will love to watch and cheer for throughout the next two seasons."

Bunn led the Lady Chaps with 11.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots, starting 25 games as a sophomore in 2016-17.

As a freshman in 2014-15 at Northeast (Neb.) Community College, Bunn averaged 11.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots in 31 games.

Payne has a plan for sure. She has gotten a lot more athletic in the bigs, with a couple additions

Definitely more athletic and taller. She saw what happened in the Pac 12 when the team had to "go small" and rely on guards. We didn't have much of a post game last season so I am happy to see the new players coming in are taller and more athletic.

Payne, who led the Buffs to a 17-16 record in her first season, said all three newcomers fit what the Buffs need at this time.
"Philosophically, we need to fill our roster every year with players that make us better from a basketball standpoint, from an academic standpoint from a social standpoint," she said. "At this juncture, we need experience, we need length, we need size."

I don't know about Howell. He makes it sound like we got desperate to fill some slots as 3 girls transferred.

After losing... three more as transfers, Colorado women's basketball coach JR Payne has had to do some quick work to build up the Buffaloes' roster.

That's the first paragraph, many will never read on to near the end where he adds:
"Philosophically, we need to fill our roster every year with players that make us better from a basketball standpoint, from an academic standpoint from a social standpoint," she said. "At this juncture, we need experience, we need length, we need size."

The Buffs have seriously upgraded their roster by trading a few players who didn't fit well for 3 who do.

Yet I posted we would get two juco bigs a month ago on this board. These were the two. They weren't last minute replacements.
