THE GAME: The University of Colorado hosts No. 6 (AP)/4 (WBCA) ranked Universtiy of Nebraska on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. at the Coors Events/Conference Center.

BROADCAST: Saturday’s game will be televised by FSN Rocky Mountain. Tom Helmer will have the call with legendary CU head coach Ceal Barry providing the color commentary and Alanna Rizzo reporting from the sidelines. Saturday’s game will also be broadcast live on KKZN AM 760. Mike Rice will give the play by play with USA Basketball’s Carol Callan with the color commentary.

OPENING TIP: Saturday’s game against Nebraska begins a four- game stretch against ranked teams for the Buffaloes. Eight of Colorado’s final 10 regular season opponents have been ranked at one point this season.

THE BUFFALOES: Colorado is 12-7 overall and 2-4 in Big 12 play after falling at Kansas on Jan. 27. The Buffaloes have lost their last two and four of their last five. At 12-7 overall Colorado has surpassed its win total for all of 2008-09 (11-18) and needs just one more win to match its 2009 Big 12 win total (3-13).

ABOUT THE HUSKERS: No. 6 (AP)/4 (WBCA) is off to its best start in school history and at 18-0, 5-0 in Big 12 play, joins defending national champion Connecticut (20-0) as the only remaining overall unbeaten NCAA Division I teams in the country. Nebraska leads the Big 12 in scoring margin (+24.8) as the Huskers rank second in the league in scoring offense (79.1 ppg) and scoring defense (54.2 ppg). Nebraska is second in the Big 12 in field goal percent- age defense (.356) and is the league’s top team in defending the 3-point line (.239).

Nebraska is led by senior forward and All-America candidate Kelsey Griffin who averages 19.1 points and a Big 12 leading 10.4 rebounds per game. Griffin also ranks second in the Big 12 in field goal accu- racy at 61.1 percent (127-of-208). Senior forward Cory Montgomery ranks second on the team at 13.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while hitting 53 percent from the floor. Senior guard Yvonne Turner is averaging 12.2 points per game and is Nebraska’s top 3-point shooter with 50, ranking second only behind CU’s Bianca Smith (57) on the league charts.

SERIES RECORDS: This will be the 66th meeting between Colo- rado and Nebraska with the Buffaloes holding a 39-26 series lead. The 39 wins over Nebraska tie for the most against one squad in team history (Missouri). Saturday’s game will pull this series even with Missouri as the most played in CU history. The two teams split the season series in 2008-09, each winning at home. Colorado is 25-5 all-time in Boulder against Nebraska including a 75-73 win on Jan. 31, 2009. Kathy McConnell-Miller is 1-8 against Nebraska as a head coach, all with Colorado.

We've been a good home team so far. The team hasn't been playing well, but I have a feeling they're angry about it. And this is Nebraska, which they handled in the Keg last year.

I've got a hunch and I'm going to predict it: Lady Buffs take down the undefeated Huskers today.
