WBB hosts Rocky Mountain Hoops Classic (Buffs vs. Miss. Valley, Friday noon;Sat.- championship 2:30)

Solid win indeed! Buffs dominated boards in 2nd half - wore GMU down.

Kennedy with one of the best games of her career. Jank is a keeper! Everyone who played made important contributions.

I've been trying to come up with an adequate way of describing my reaction to this season's team. After they beat Miami and George Washington I feel that they are better than I anticipated both as a whole and individually. They are more athletic and the newcomers fit well with what the coaching staff wants to do on both ends of the court.

Offensively they've now got two players that can be physical in the post and score with contact - Janea Bunn and Annika Jank. It's been a while since they've had post players that could do so.

As a team the rebounding is going well for the most part. They dominated GMU as the game went on and that was what really sealed the win.

Players other than Kennedy have their moments scoring wise. In the second quarter v GMU it was Brecca Thomas when Leonard was on the bench with two fouls. In the third it was Jank. Of course Kennedy did more than her fair share of scoring and Robinson was able to hit many key treys as well as an "and one" layup.

GMU executed their game plan well in the first half, but the Buffs were able to use their talent advantage as the game went on to wear the Patriots down.

At this time I believe this team has a shot at winning more games than last season's - maybe not many more, but at least a few.

This team is fun, and I believe will be much better than last year’s team once they have more court time together. They will be welcoming their opponents to a whole new CU experience and they won’t like it.
