Definitely in the realm of the old saying "it's a dirty job but someone has to do it", the women's golf team is having to rough it out at at The Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui the next 3 days at the Univ. of Hawaii's hosted "Anuenue Spring Break Classic".

I don't see a Buff preview article; Hawaii's is at http://hawaiiathletics.com/news/2017/3/21/womens-golf-heads-to-valley-isle-for-nuenue-classic.aspx .

From that preview, looks like another tournament with some good teams to to test the Buffs-

This year's Anuenue Classic features the nation's top-ranked team, Stanford, along with three other Top 50 ranked teams – No, 4 Arizona State, No. 9 UCLA, No. 36 Colorado, and No. 44 San Jose State. Making up the rest of the 15-team field are Albany, Fresno State, Gonzaga, UH, Mercer, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), Santa Clara, Seattle, UC Davis, and Utah Valley.

UC Davis won the last Anuenue Classic in 2015. UCLA captured the title in 2013 with a tourney record score of 854 while Colorado was the inaugural champion in 2012.

Participants will play a total of 54 holes, 18 on each day at the par 72, 6,022-yard course with a ***7:45 a.m. shotgun start on each day.

Per the leader board, looks like a nice start for the Buffs, as they open up tied for 2nd after round 1 at +5, only 2 strokes behind leader #7 UCLA.

Individually, the Buffs are led by senior Esther Lee (#25 in the country per the leader board), who is also tied for 2nd at -1, and junior Brittany Fan, who's one stroke behind Ms. Lee and part of a 5 way for 4th.

Keep it up Buffs over the next 2 more rounds!

The Buffs slipped a little bit per the leader board and are now in 4th after round 2, 18 strokes out of the lead and 10 behind 2nd. Still playing pretty good, however, as they hold a 1 stroke lead over 5th place and national #1 ranked Stanford, and are quite a bit ahead (13 strokes) ahead of the 6th place team. (The 5 ranked teams in the tournament occupy the top 5 spots.)

Individually, Esther Lee still in the hunt for a high finish, as she's tied for 6th, but only 2 strokes behind 2nd, and Brittany Fan is only 2 strokes behind her. (The leader, from UCLA, has a BIG lead, 9 strokes up on 2nd.)

Looks like the Buffs ended up in 4th, 7 strokes behind #42 SJSU, but 3 strokes ahead of #1 Stanford. Overall, sounds like a solid finish for the team.
