WSU @ CU Game thread

Y’all are crazy if you think a coach who loses seven straight in year six of a tenure with one bowl doesn’t get fired.
There is a remote but possible scenario in which the Buffs go to a bowl this year, therefore showing “improvement” over last year’s team, which could be interpreted as a team ‘on the rise’ by those gagging on the cost of firing.

The football death cycle.

1. Players only meeting
2. Coaches blame injuries and players not making plays.
3. Dreaded vote of confidence.
4. Termination.

Next up 3 and 4

Ease up on him. He has a ton of talent but he is getting bombarded from every side when he passes. Even PFM got happy feet if he got hit enough. Put somebody else in there and they will do worse.
Talent does not excuse his mental lapses. 3/4ths of his hits today were because HE held the ball too long

Ive enjoyed watching people tout a marginal qb most of the season. His stats were built on glorified jet sweeps.
He cant read a defense, has zero pocket presence and doesnt anticipate throws. He sucks at check downs and is not an accurate passer. The oline sucks ass, but Montez is using the same straw.
You hit the nail on the head. No feel for the game and stinks at the mental aspects of the game.

So our back up QB got thrown out for targeting? I’m having trouble imagining the sequence of events.

Glad I worked didn’t miss anything it seems. Tried to listen on the radio but MJ is horrible couldn’t tell if the player gained yards or lost yards. Barnett is fantastic. Hope we get a coach in that takes line play serious and that starts with recruiting.

It was a beautiful day at Folsom.

Noyer's hit was the most inspiring play of the game.

D line play was bewilderingly bad. shocked at how well the rest of the D held up againsta pirate O. Minshew had an off day.

Stayed until the end, another fan pointed out that was the second time a team put up 31 unanswered on us in three weeks.

I had to leave. Never do that but I could not take it anymore. So disappointed. We are trending the wrong direction. It was a beautiful day and started off great. Next week will be laborious.

I have news for you. The ESPN broadcast wasn’t any better. Tons of horrible calls and lack of insight. Their entire playbook was to play up the Wazzu QB mustache. That’s all they had.

Yeah. That 3 man rush was great.

Yep, porn stach could've ate a bowl of cereal, took a dump, ate another bowl of cereal then threw to somebody. Dude had a month to throw most of the time. That's too much to ask of any secondary.

The point of the 3-man rush that folks are complaining about was to model the defense after what Cal did - max coverage, linebackers sitting on drop-off routes, etc. And it worked. This game is all on the offense. All of it. 42 minutes in time of possession vs. 18. Pathetic. No defense in the country can thrive in that environment.

I agree with that, but they saw the offense wasn't doing a damn thing and didn't run anything different. I'd think you should try to force a mistake or something. I could live with getting burned being risky, playing to WIN. Sorry, I didn't see that, Mac needs to exit stage left.

My favorite part of the game - there was a happy, boisterous bunch of Cougs up in my section. The security/medical folks were called on to evac Coug fans from that merry tribe.... three times. Must have been the altitude. Anyhow, we Buffs have lost our edge in the rowdiness arms race.

I like the Wazzu fans.

I like that I learned that Black Box has a very drinkable whiskey for 20 bucks that dispenses from a pour spout box I was able to put in my fridge.

Damn, no longer the worst fans in CFB? Very disappointing.

So, drinkable as long as it's refrigerated?

Refrigerated whiskey, really?

So drinkable as long as it's refrigerated?
I'm not sure that refrigerated is necessary, but I like my whiskey neat but chilled so I went with that instead of putting it on the countertop.

I'm kind of a snob and I've been pretty damn happy. Pleasantly surprised.

I only tried it because their red blend has passed the test of being a very drinkable every-day wine. (And I was someone who used to make fun of box wines.)

The espn machine pumping up wsu just to watch them come crashing down so they can have 2 sec teams in the college championship.

Two things that I woke up pissed about: the punt from the wsu 35 when we were down 17-7 late in the 3rd. The consistant 1/2 - 1 yard xtra that was awarded to wsu on ball spots.

And, of course, Landman being tossed for trying to prevent a 1st down.

I guess that's 3. I probably need a mental health break.

Seems like the coaching staff has taken the Montez out of Montez. We would not have beaten Oregon in 2016 without Steven playing wild and free and gunslinging the ball. Feels like he has been brain wiped of his playmaking ability down the stretch. He throws it away into the stands better than anyone. I think Chiv should call the game from the sidelines these last 2 games. The team needs he and Drake getting them fired up, and maybe Chiv will get a better feel for the actual game and call plays that Montez can make plays. Let El Paso be El-Passso

None of this matters. He could call plays from Broncos Stadium and I think we'd see the same crap playcalling we've been seeing.
