CSU Getting Desperate?

The burning question is whether Wally should be killed by the heft of the fat chick or whether this scene would have Wally ditching Burrito & pals (who were his ride), getting stranded 50 miles from home, and having to do a 10-hour walk of shame. Of course, Wally wouldn't realize it was a walk of "shame" because he'd be proud of his accomplishment and have a skip in his step the whole way.

This movie has the feel of Ghost, The Long Walk, and Porky's!

Lol hilarious, didnt know Walrus liked big girls. Is he like the white guy out there dancing with a big assed black chick?

This game is a set-up. Too much bad news coming out of Fart Collins.
scares the $h!t out of me....these are the games our BUFFS freak out and don't show up??? hopefully they aren't reading the crap out of csu.

This is a bad team. We lost 17 games the last two seasons & had little trouble with these guys in either year. They couldn't throw for 200+ yards in either of the last two games despite our less than impressive pass defense. The guy who couldn't beat out Pete Thomas last Spring is their starter. They have a new coach. They've had a ton of attrition. They didn't recruit particularly well.

Ya, it's CSU. Ya, it's the first game of the season. But, this is the type of game that Jordan Webb should thrive in. We'll be starting at least one true frosh & will have a ton of inexperienced players on the field. But, Webb's experience will be huge for this team early on. I also have no doubt we'll come out fired up (We won't see a repeat of 2009) & play hard.

Sacramento St has me more worried than CSU.

I have a good question: How much would you guys pay to have Tony Frank and Jack Graham?

In the words of a wise Buff fan on Rivals: "I think it's hilarious that everyone just rips Frank and Graham for trying to improve the schools athletics. All the while we have an AD who has done nothing but luck into a good bball hire and a president who is scared to admit that athletics can improve the standing of the school. In addition CSU has consistently moved up academic rankings while CU has moved down under each respective presidents tenure. CU would die for these two guys to be running their AD, they just happen to be in a much more difficult situation in Fort Collins and are frankly 10 years behind, because their predecessors did nothing."

CU's admin=small time. Top that off with the fact that we stole LSU's Chancellor just recently and he also understands the impact of athletics on a university

Your pres? I like. Although i think hes digging a huge funding hole. Your ad? Over his head over ambitious wind bag. All flash, no substance so far

best part. So true

Why is this thread now about the CSU Prez/AD? I thought it was about CSU adding 5 walk-ons. :backpeddling:

While I see your argument, I don't think I am sold on either. Frank maybe, but a President's job is to keep the University funded through donations, state funding etc., and Benson does very well bringing in the donations.

Jack Graham has his heart in the right place, but there are a couple of issues I am not sure about with the guy. He is spending money that simply is not sustainable given the current state of the CSU AD budget. I get that he is trying to spend money to make money, but it is a substantial risk to the long term financial health of the AD. He is also a booster running your athletic department with no prior experience in college athletics administration. This could blow up in CSU's face or work out great. Only time will tell.

Bottom line is that time will tell if the strategy works or completely blows up in CSU's face. You of course simply won't acknowledge that there is a substantial risk costwise in their endeavor because in your world, all of the new spending is paid for by some new magic money tree that CSU has thanks to the increased revenue from a substantially poached conference with almost no guaranteed TV revenue.

Well until Graham does something to prove he can't run an AD, I'll say he can because everything is an improvement so far. His main job is to build the stadium though, and that's why we stole Washingtons Senior Associate AD to be his wingman here for day-to-day operations.

The money tree is likely coming from the increased donations and university support. Not exactly stuff that will put us in future "debt"

1. Increased donations... what increased donations?
2. University support - Like how the stadium is a no-go if it requires university support?

Again, magic money tree.

You know CU is grasping for straws when the best thing they can talk about is CSU adding 5 walk-ons who will likely never play.

Grasping at straws? In those threads in which you've chosen to participate, you've been presented valid rebuttals to your point which you tend to either:

A. Ignore

B. reduce to "lol at Fluff fans who can't read"

Why are we reduced to grasping at straws in your opinion? If CU sent out a request for walk-ons to fill gaps, would that not be a valid discussion on Ramnation prior to a game against CU?

And why, in your opinion, is this the "best thing" we can talk about? We have a lot of threads going on this board. It's just another thing to talk about before our first game, no?

1)Already posted this a thousand times. Sorry you can't read
2)Increased athletic budget

Again, learn to read. My limit is posting things 20 times. After that, you're on your own

It's not my fault you all have the mental capacity of a two year old

It seems like the same leadership you're bragging about is starting to back away from these bold claims of increased support/budget (see recent articles in the DP). Perhaps you should follow their cue.

Not going to lie...I like what moves CSU has made of late. The big question is that will those hires follow through on improving athlethics at CSU?

Remember, talk is cheap.
