Mike Bohn vows changes are coming

I think it is just clear that Embo and his staff don't have a mind for football at the tactical level. They don't know how to scheme or adjust. And it is clear they don't recognize those qualities when evaluating other coaches.

The talent at CU isn't so bad that we should be getting blown out week in and week out.
Get your levels of war right, dio. Embree and EB are great at he TACTICAL level, it's the operational and strategic levels they have issues with.

Speaking of Mike Bohn vowing changes, I would love to hear how he can possibly consider retaining Embree after he fired a good football coach with a very big buyout because he didn't think that the football program was headed in the right direction. We are soley in this mess because Bohn had to have his guy and put his stamp on CU athletics.

I just take Tuesday because I believe a decision should take a couple days to think, organize the thoughts and make a decision. If it doesn't happen I than just have no faith that anything tangible ever will with bohn and the admin.

(and no, I do not realistically expect anything tomorrow)

The part of me that has a remote hope that the admin is listening is thinking that MB will let Embree sink or swim based on the final 3 games. If more of the same continues and Folsom is half empy at kickoff, it will be very easy for them to dump Embree without any backlash.

There is donor money on the sidelines. It's a trust issue as much as an economics issue.

How many people would be pumped if Benson and DiStephano stepped out of their political comfort zone and said...

"Dear Buffnation. We recognize our neglect and take responsibility for the state of the program.

The football program is like a high profile front porch. If the porch is inviting, more people will want to step inside and take a peek at our Nobel prizes.

I swear on my mother's grave that I will do everything in my power to restore CU football back to the prestige that was enjoyed in the 1990s.

I need your help. Please visit the CU Flagship 2030 website to see the plan that Mike Bohn has put together and that we are 100 percent behind. To realize this plan, we have set up a pledge site that will track our progress.

We need to raise $50M from boosters over the next 10 years for this to be viable. Make your pledge and be a part of CU's destiny. $50M sounds like alot. But with 30,000 active alumni, your fair share is less than $200 per person per year. Anyone donating $1000 per year will be rewarded with a thank you gift that includes an authentic coaches sweatshirt and a pass to join your fellow Buff leaders in a club box for a game. Give what you can. CU back in the top 25!
Go Buffs

Love Phil and Bruce"

I would probably s*** a solid gold brick big enough to pay for the IPF if I heard anything resembling accountability from Benson and Dr. Phil

i vividly remember the last days of Barnett. We all wanted him gone. Boner was under immense pressure to fire him, after the "scandal" and the beat down by the Nubs and Horns. At that time, we all thought that if we hired a better coach, national championships were imminent. I was giddy watching Danny's introduction presser.

Long story short...I don't fault boner for **** canning Barnett. We wanted a lot more at that point. In hindsight, we were so wrong.

Remember, "we all" didn't want Barnett gone. Those of us who wanted him to remain unfortunately look like geniuses now. I also don't fault Bohnhead for firing Barnett. The public image of the program, largely due to Boulder football haters, was in the tank.

Well said, and I was in the minority to on Barney. I miss him, and didn't want him fired althoug like you I see why they did it. We took some serious thumpings. I say can Embree NOW and let Barnett finish the season off. That is now my dream scenario. Pretty sad huh?

I wanted Barney gone. UT thrashing was a killer. We were so much better than that.....oops. Look at us now.

I still remember the beginning of the end of Buff Football, it occurred that season. We beat Mizzou at home, 48-12 or something like that and we were ranked and rolling. You see my friends, I was at that game, flew in from NY for it and left happy as a kid on Christmas morning. That was the day the music died, because the week after we lost in Ames against Iowa State and a tornado, then got pounded at home by the Fuskers and beaten to a pulp by Texas 70-3. From that Mizzou game forward we have literally never been the same. God Patrick Williams even caught a TD pass, Vickers trucked a few people and our Defense knocked Brad Smith out of the game. God it was amazing. Ahh the good old days....... so sad.

From the DC only a few hours ago: Embree was asked if he would have a problem making changes to his coaching staff if his bosses asked him to.

"I don't anticipate them asking me to do that, so I don't want to answer a question like that that would be hypothetical like that," Embree said.

Hmm. I wonder if Bohn is gonna actually pull the trigger? Hopefully someone pulls the trigger on him(not literally) and Benson/DiStephanie too. Embree also seems like a bad liar...

I don't fault Bohn for keeping Hawkins. I think he wanted him gone, but the admin was playing politics and kept him a disastrous 5th year. I also don't blame him for the disastrous Embree hire...the athletic dept was broke and a tremendous amount of pressure from booster, alums and I guess the admin forced his hand.

I hope once we are out from under the payouts and we have more money, Bohn can hire his guy. I hope it's a big name, like Kirby Smart etc. If he ****s up the next hire, I say fire him.

Based on articles I saw this morning it looks like Bohn is backing off his statement that changes will be announced today. Embo was quoted as saying it is hypothetical to talk about any coaching changes at this point. Guessing this means we have another BS QB announcment to look forward to.... Maybe we will just pull Dillon's redshirt to throw him to the wolves.

I don't want Bohn to announce anything today or anytime until either just before/after the Utah game. If he comes out today and says there's a staff shakeup and some ACs are gone, then that would somewhat ensure that Embree is here next year no matter how the season plays out. If Bohn waits, then I would think more options are on the table.

The announcement of an announcement is strange though... Par for the course for Bohn though.

Can someone actually show me where Mike said on Tuesday of this week there would be an announcement from him about changes in the program?

this is what i see in that article:
Bohn added, "After the last game the intensity of reviewing all aspects of the program will increase dramatically with improvements and adjustments implemented."

Why on earth would they want to make a major announcement on National Election Day. The only reason you would do that would be a "take out the trash" type of announcement where you are hoping something won't get much run in the media by announcing it on a day when they are focused on something else.

Bohn never said Tuesday. He just vowed that changes would take place and never gave a timeline. Anything before the Utah game would be premature at this point. Let the season finish and then sweep it clean would be my hopes.

Although I'd like to hear about changes now so that we can be optimistic about something before half of ABers are sedated in asylums. BUT I 100% agree w/ you that if we hear something before end of season there is no way Bohn has the backing to fire Embree yet so it would be much lass than the solution we need.

Finger's crossed for regime change!

I might be naive, but I just don't see Embree getting the axe, however deserved it may be. What I see as the most probable disposition at this point are changes to the coordinators. If this is all we're going to get (and I suspect it is), I'd rather get these changes out there sooner than later. It sounds like some decisions have already been made, and potential replacements lined up. If that's the case, let's go ahead and get this thing done so the team and potential recruits will have some feel for what's going on.

The only issue might be those coordinators are working on other teams and the public announcement will have to be after the season.

I'm just trying to figure out who as a coordinator would come here with Embree being on the hotseat he is on. Also these are Jon's handpicked coordinators. Why would you trust him to pick anyone else. He is responsible for these guys being here.

This is going to turn out really bad, like its not bad already.

If the rift in the locker room is as bad as some of the rumors indicate, Bohn may have no choice but to fire the whole staff. Starting fresh with all new coaches is probably what's needed to heal our divided locker room.

I don't recall MB saying an announcemetn was imminent, bercause that would mean he didn't have to consult some committee somewhere to run his own Department. I think he is saying non-specific crap like "There will be sweeping changes", just to get a few butts in the seats.

read this morning that we can stop all our "wish list" embree not going anywhere. We have him here for at least one more year... Great !! I sure hope some of these kids perform next year??? even with bad coaching

They'll lose a third of their season tickets if they keep Embree another year. There's only so much abuse people are willing to take. Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that going to football games with my Dad is a cherished activity, I'd probably not bother.

I agree with Sacky, I consider myself a pretty big fan, but I do feel my goodwill has been abused by a long train of inept decisions where FB is concerned. How do you go from a team that was a contender in it's conference to one that can't win to save it's life and has SEVEN losing seasons in a row? I guess you do it by hiring a weak hand like Mike Bohn, destroyer of CFB programs. So count me out until CU is serious about being something other than the P12 whipping boy.
