The Mayor's Journey To Election Day

I agree about OKC's window closing. The James Harden deal is not looking good in the long run. More than anything they need depth that can contribute offensively, something that killed them in those playoff losses.

OKC is in an interesting position. DFish will prolly retire and go into coaching, and there are some who are speculating that Reggie Jackson tends to be too selfish thereby losing favor with coach Brooks.

A ball distributor with good defensive skills fits the Thunder mold.

They also like having multiple guys on the floor with long arms and quickness who can defend multiple positions on the perimeter which Spencer can do. He can defend the point but also switch easily to cover 2s and 3s. He is also a point who can be effective without the ball which sounds like a contradiction but with a team like OKC Durant is going to handling the ball a lot and it helps to have a point who can not only be a playmaker but also quickly transition into a guy who becomes an option for Durant (or Westbrook) to pass to.

Every team on every level of basketball likes having that.

They also like players who can create their own shot, shoot a high percentage, are good passers, are plus rebounders, have a high basketball IQ, and deliver a high efficiency rating.

This is why I believe Spencer will find his way into the 1st round.

I think he'll go in the first round too (22-30ish), I just wish it was more of a sure thing (low to mid teens) for spencer.

I hope he lands with Spurs. That would be a fantastic landing spot with learning alongside Parker. If OKC got rid of Jackson, they would be a good fit, if not, I can't see them going after another PG.

How many more years does pop have. He is such a good coach that anyone else is a downgrade.

Kristaps Porzingis withdrew from the draft. Last week or so there had been rumors circulating that the Hawks (#15) and Thunder (#21) had promised to take him in the 1st round. So, one less player that would have been likely taken ahead of Dinwiddie.

Saw him at #37 on the ESPN Insider draft board.

Made a $5 bet with a friend that he goes in the 1st due to a team who values advanced metrics to pick him.

God, having to cheer for the Thunder, Rockets and Jazz because of Buffs is going to be hard if it happens. I'm not sure there's a less likable trio in the NBA for me.

I'm not sure why the Rockets would elicit that reaction. They haven't been relevant in a long time. Hell, I live here and haven't given a crap about them (or the NBA) in 15 years.

No kidding. I get offered free Rockets tickets all the time. I would love to have a reason to take advantage of those.

Burks is on the trading block this summer, which would be nice for him. Get him out of Utah

Slider, where did you read that. Curious because I haven't seen anything suggesting that he is going anywhere - seems like Jazz are high on him.

I certainly would love to see him out of Utah, but if he is to be a/the focus of their Pick-n-Post offense, I would rather see him the focus in Utah than a role player elsewhere.

This article is dated, maybe you found something recently.

I've seen a few things that say Burks is on the block, but others say he's not. I think it's going to depend on what Snyder wants to do. I honestly don't remember what system he ran when he was a head coach (other than "chaos").
