'16 CO OLB Carlo Kemp (Signed to Michigan)

I am just a bitter old man. And screw Dan Skipper too.

Difference was that Skipper was more than open to coming to CU.

Embree didn't think he could play and essentially blew him off for most of the recruiting cycle.

My kid went to school with his brother. I'm kidding about Skipper.
Sure you didn't mean this guy? And what is in that sock? Yikes.

MacIntyre asked to bring about 9 coaches and dinner to the Pagano residence last Friday. They were politely turned away. I'm glad that MacIntyre hasn't quit recruiting Kemp.

Also, the ND coaches were very ungracious on the phone when they were told that Kemp was committing to Michigan. If for any reason there is a falling out with Michigan in the next couple of weeks, ND is not getting back in the game.

Can you go back to not posting?

Part of me wants to say "bottom line business and they didn't close the deal" regarding MacIntyre and not getting Kemp.

But based on all I've heard, this was such an uphill battle and longshot that building a relationship and even to legitimately get into the conversation took a ton of work. Not that it means much of anything in the short-term, but I think that this recruitment was probably another small step forward for rebuilding some of those in-state bridges that Hawkins set a tire fire to.

I also sense that Carlo was just one of those kids who wanted to get away from home. Had we been good it would have been an uphill battle.

Gotta keep up the pressure with Kemp. The shakeup at Michigan gives us a slight opening. Nothing is final until signing day.

He is an EE so it will be over quickly.
Forgot about that. I think that gives us a bigger advantage. Michigan needs to hire a new DC and who knows if Kemp will mesh well with that person or system, then they have to make sure Kemp sticks with them, whereas Leavitt and company can be in his ear continuously about being the hometown hero.

He committed because of Harbaugh, not Durkin.

Well, you have misread the Pagano family. They are nice, humble, neighborly people. They do not call themselves first family or anything like that. You are angry at people for something they never said.

Be honest with yourself, any Colorado prep player that goes to Colorado is built up by local CU fans. It is natural when you have a small number of players from a small pool to hold them to a higher standard for no other reason than where they grew up.

You've fallen into the aged old trap, a trap even older than you, to find fault in the minutia of anothers words and actions because you feel scorned by something they did. Carlo Kemp is leaving, let him go. Maybe he will be successful at U of M, if so then wish him well. Maybe he will do like so many other CO preps that leave and are never heard from again. Maybe he will transfer to CU in a year or two like others seem to do every few years.

Do yourself a favor and release this inner anger that you are directing at an 18 year old young man and his family. Be honest with youself that it is not this young man and his family that is burning you up but rather something else.
Carlo, I am your father. Release your anger and we can rule Colorado together.
