BEAVERS VS CSU

Boodie and Gallup are top players,
good crowd at beginning - very hot out there and no shade
1st class opening game, but the repeat waving of that belt was a reminder these guys are small-time at heart

CSU offense is what I thought it would be. They have talent on that side. They used that toss sweep with a lot of success. Better be ready. I'm more concerned

Neuweasel was gushing about CSU's on-campus stadium with a UCLA Bruins heart.

Guys, I am a beer distributor for CSU. We worked hard the last couple months to get their beer system set up for this game. With that said, the ram faithful were pumped about this game for a long time. I was not shocked to see this happen today. Here's hoping the Buffs don't take this team with new life lightly. I have a good feeling CSU shot their was of emotion there and the buffs come out and take care of business. But we have a fight Friday night

...and now for something completely different. How fat is Chip Kelly in ESPN!

Seriously, l wouldn't under estimate CSU from here on out.
They are doing what it takes to improve their lot.

I don't know who is underestimating them. I'm not. But I still expect to win. We have better players and coaches. I am slightly nervous about the fact they got to knock the rust off today

Several thoughts after watching:
  • OSU is not as good as I thought they'd be-yet. Luton will come on as the season goes on which is unfortunate for CU
  • CSU is better on defense than I thought they'd be- they swarm to the ball and do not let their size become an issue. A lot of the TOs today had to do with swarming to the ball.
  • That said, the turnovers masked what is still a pretty leaky defense. Oregon State was ranked 105th last year in yards per game (365.5) and 86th in scoring offense (26.2 points per game), but still rolled up 456 yards.
  • Next week should be a shootout. Specifically, those corners are BAD and that is not where you want to have a weakness vs. CU. If Montez and the wideouts don't beat themselves there should be a lot of points.
  • I believe CU is a much better team than OSU, but if they are not careful CSU will roll them just like they rolled OSU.

I think it's good we got to see some film. I think that's better than getting a game zero.

Clear you have to get to Stephens from different angles.

Thing is, I'm not sure I would totally bury OSU either. They were always a borderline bowl team and this game does not really change much. Probably need to beat Minnesota in a couple weeks though.

They're cooked. They've got Portland State next week (who acquitted themselves in Provo today pretty well), in addition to that date with Minnesota in two weeks.

I dont think they're good enough to win 4 games in league, even if they do find a way to knock off Minnesota.
