Washington Game --- Official Thread (8pm FS1)

It was clear coming into this game that there would be a large talent gap between these two teams, especially with the bigs on both sides. The effort tonight, however, has been trash. Seems like a lot of people on this team like to talk but not many want to strap it up when someone pops em in the mouth. I'm ok losing on talent and execution, but the clear lack of motivation is troubling.

Folks, we have a real football team again. Stop being so negative. We can critique the simple nuances of certain situations within a game, but the big picture is BRIGHT, it is not like it was the past 10 years before 2016. We can get better each day and learn from each day. Can certain players play better, YES. Can certain coaches coach better, HELL YES, specifically Lindgren. I am super happy with Elliott and the rest of the coaching staff. So many things are improved, especially special teams. But, the Offensive play design and play calling is not good enough for this team and this league. I have asked this question 20 times and nobody has answered me, so I will ask it again:

WHO OFFICIALLY MAKES THE PLAY CALLS FOR THIS OFFENSE? DOES LINDGREN HAVE TOTAL CONTROL, OR DOES COACH CHEV HAVE THE CHANCE TO CALL THE PLAYS. GIVE ME A REAL ANSWER! Thank you and I apologize for the capital letters, but I really want to know.

Buffs fans crack me up. Got beat up by a team that's right there with the best in the nation. Washington will do that to just about everyone they play this year. I like our team and see it growing up a lot as the year goes on. Need to answer the bell next week against UCLA.

I want to believe. Holes in the trenches are stopping me though.

The other part is, at least 50% of the bad stuff that happened to us was self-inflicted.

Dropped balls, missed reads, inopportune penalties... We might not clean those up this season, but it's not a difference in athleticism.

Please someone on here, whose on here all the time ... mark my words now. We will NOT win 6 games this year.
Oh brother. We killed ourselves with picks and a blocked punt. Things tend to spiral out of control with college kids when that happens. Other than USC, we won't play a team as talented as UW this year.

We still get to 7+ wins pretty easily if the play calling gets better and Montez cuts down on the picks.

Me too. But I keep reminding myself that I'm so focused on the Buffs that I tend to not pay as much attention to the major problems every other program in the Pac-12 except for UW have (but USC's issues probably won't still be there in November as their talent grows up).

We just needed Montez to slide better. It all started there
it's funny because it's kind of true.

One thing that makes me question our coaches big time though is trotting out Haigler at guard. He is still undersized for tackle, and he's nowhere near strong enough to be playing inside. Kaiser is playing tackle on the same side that Haigler is playing guard?! What?! How does that decision get made?

well... solid first quarter. okay 2nd quarter. **** 2nd half.

Buffs will be alright, but gotta get **** cleaned up. Makes you wonder if they would have truly pushed themselves in games 1-3 if they would have had some of these issues already cleaned up.

I don't understand why you play Noyer in this game. Montez obviously needs more experience against a good team.

I think Gamboa is going to be exposed by any team with speed. It won't stop any time soon.

Oregon st, arizona and cal. This game sucked but let's not get crazy.
Are you ****ing serious? Cal gave USC all it could handle and beat Ole Miss and Carolina. Anyone who thinks we beat them is huffing cheap paint. Arizona hung tough with Utah and lost a close one to Houston, a good program.

Buff fans need to get real. This offense is bottom of the P12. Lindgren needs to go sell insurance.
