22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

I'm pretty sure he can do whatever the F he wants. Unbalanced class - tweet at the transfer portal next year!
I think this is the key. He can attract some transfers others may not be able to. There is a dearth of talent at some key positions. The portal opens doors to hit those problems quickly. My question is who will fill out his staff. Managing the team through this is important. Second only to recruiting, which is where the last two programs failed.

Reading posts like yours, I wonder how schools like CU can insist on the same academic standards for all students. Gifted athletes who want a career in sports are just as valid a part of the university, as people wanting to be CEOs or lawyers. They shouldn't be barred the opportunities, because they maybe grew-up focused on sports rather than books.
I don't agree with this. For the majority of these athletes this is the last stop. Those expectations shouldn't change and the bar should not be lowered.

I would rather see athletes get their degree so when that contract doesn't come they have something to fall back on and they have the great advantage of not being in debt for years after either. What an opportunity to seize the day on!

I would also expect the university to provide every resource necessary to achieve this (tutors on standby and such).

This is a part of working hard and being disciplined.

Mad at us for playing the game that has victimized us since it started.
LOL Scheer isn't mad. He's scared.

The whole ****ing sport had to see this coming. Deion Sanders is a once in a lifetime personality. Probably one of the most charismatic individuals I've ever seen. Confidence through the roof. He's going to kill it, and everybody who passed on him will regret they did it.

Violation of team rules for sure. I would appalled if the school could pull a scholarship for medical reasons (it might even be illegal).
I think they can, as I remember hearing that was a tactic some of the big programs have used, but maybe it just doesn’t count against the 85 limit?

If any of what this guy says is true, I am dying. Not only did we go from dead to full sprint over night, we also went from complaining that we cant compete in this new set of rules, to forcing the country to want to change the rules back over night.

Scholarships are guaranteed in that they have one as long as the SA is eligible for one, right? Meaning a violation of team rules or medically retiring would void the scholarship, correct?
Even before 4 year guaranteed scholarships, medical retirements were guaranteed through graduation or 5 years from enrollment. They also didn't count under the 85 cap. Violation of the scholarship agreement, team, or university rules would void the scholarship agreement. What is not clear under the PAC-12 4 year guarantee is does that count under the 85 cap if a player is "cut" from the team. I haven't really looked for the details.

It's just kind of funny to hear him say - "no hats, no hoodies, no earrings..." I like it. But how would that have gone over on college Deion Sanders?
I am pretty sure that Deion owes a lot of how he is as a coach to Bobby Bowden. I am assuming the same rules that are being implemented at Colorado for team activities are the same rules that were in place at FSU.
