When we lost Simas, Will Jefferson moved into the lead. He's a skilled receiver who is the team's best blocking WR and worked hard on improving his speed in the offseason to become more than a possession receiver.
Assuming he gets an NCAA waiver, Andre Simmons has the ideal size/speed combo and seemed to turn the corner during the spring game.
Kyle Cefalo, a walk on who had the athletic ability to be a scholarship baseball player at Oregon State before transferring to CU, also had a monster spring game and was mentioned as a guy who shined in every practice report.
Then there are the darkhorse candidates: Jason Espinoza, who was 3rd on the team in catches last season and looked good against Toledo; Kendrick Celestine, a fast and talented player who performed as a true freshman but left the program for a while to return this year (shaking the rust off); Jarrod Darden, a big red zone target who was well thought of as a recruit but hasn't had the lightbulb go on yet; Dustin Ebner, a walkon with good size and speed who saw significant game action in 2009; and, Keenan Canty, a lightly recruited freshman who has been impressing over the summer with his speed, quickness and hands.
Now we've added Travon Patterson from USC to the mix, who was dominant in the Trojan spring game and has world class speed.
Who will be the 3rd starter?
