  1. Bohn's Decision to Retain Hawk

Great post, I think you made an excellent point. And Bohn is doing a great job turning around the basketball program for all his mishaps with football. Already this season early attendance is up at least 50%. Its taking time but the bball program is becoming quite good. If by next year the coors...
  2. Bohn's Decision to Retain Hawk

Arizona, UCLA, North Carolina, Maryland, Michigan St., Illinois, Wake Forest.....the list goes on. College basketball is a massive money maker.
  3. Big 12 Basketball Blackout Rules

More of a reason for the Big 12 to start their own network.
  4. '10 CA SG Jordin Mayes (Signed to Arizona)

Re: '10 CA SG Jordin Mayes I don't think Mayes is going to end up at CU. Plus I hope we don't use an open scholarship on another guard. We need big guys. 6-8 centers won't cut it in the Big 12. Next year with Higgin's brother and Sharpe in the lineup we'll already have Tomlinson, Sharpe...
  5. Louisville fires their coach

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4695416 After just 3 seasons, and he had an identical record the past three seasons as Hawkins (albeit one more win this season). Louisville has the balls to pull the trigger, but apparently we don't......interestingly look at the bottom of the...
  6. Everyone not renewing football tickets....

....buy basketball season tickets for next year, or even this year (its dirt cheap). We are on the rise in basketball, you can still support CU. I'd love it if our basketball team made up the difference in the anticipated financial losses from football. AD still gets the message that they...
  7. 3-9, that's right, 3-9

Last season 4 of our 5 wins were come from behind wins, and one of those come from behind wins was against f**king Eastern Washington! We were not that far off last season from being 3-9 or 2-10 either. Not surprised at the regression we had this season because last year we were closer to...
  8. How good is Arizona this year?

Pac 10 is WAYY down this season, like exceptionally bad. Washington and Cal are the best teams, but they would be the 4th or 5th best team if they were in the Big 12. Arizona has as much of a chance as anyone, and also have a huge upside. They have talent just lack experience. Gonzaga should...
  9. How good is Arizona this year?

He hasn't been there for 3 seasons so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
  10. What should we do?

I don't want Hawkins to fail since he's going to be here for another year. I wanted him to fail towards the end of the year so he'd lose his job. But now that it is set in stone that DH is coming back, and he's proven to put a crappy product on the field, why bother spending the money? At...
  11. So if we don't have enough money this year....

...and next year we suck yet again, how will we be able to buyout Hawkins then? Assuming the buyout goes to say $2 million, the economic loss of 5-10 thousand less fans should be on the brink of putting the athletic program in the negative. At that point we would have even less money to buyout...
  12. Tomlinson

With 19 seconds left vs. Gonzaga......you always put the ball into your best player's hands in late game situations. Higgins is the star, Tomlinson needs to know he is the 3rd or 4th option, not the #1 option.
  13. Jay Bilas: Observations from Maui

Not to slam McClain, he's a solid coach, but if Bzdelik was around I think we win one of those games. This is Bzdelik's team. I'm sure it was hard for him watching the games 5000 miles away. Hopefully his family is doing fine. They would have been huge wins, especially against Gonzaga who...
  14. Post Game Thread: Buff/Zags

He needs to first learn not to foul so quickly. I realize Gonzaga is tough in the interior but he picked up 4 fouls playing in 6 minutes.
  15. Steve McClain Coaching Philosophy

Good point, plus with his dad's NBA connections, Higgins will get plenty of time to showcase his skills to NBA scouts regardless of how he does his senior year.
  16. Hawkins dismissal seems like a foregone conclusion...

Dorrell isn't that bad of an option. Not the best, but he's not bad. I tend to think there were inside reasons he was let go from UCLA. He did lead UCLA to 10-2. He is absolutely an improvement over Hawkins. But he should not be the top of the list for Bohn. If we run into a situation that...
  17. Hawkins dismissal seems like a foregone conclusion...

Bzdelik though is very well respected across the nation. He has a great reputation and our basketball team appears to be turning the corner. Let's not pin Bzdelik as a failure. He didn't have much to work with when he started at CU. Basketball is going to take longer to build. Hawkins inherited...
  18. Hawkins: Regrets bringing Cody to CU

You have to wonder what the advantage would be for Cody to stay around. I have no problem if he does, but from his perspective what does he gain? Assuming he's finished with his degree from CU, Portland State would be a good situation for him.
  19. Hawkins: Regrets bringing Cody to CU

Doubtful Cody ever see's another minute if he's around next season as long as Hansen stays healthy, if Dan Hawkins is gone. I think any coach without the blinders of Cody being his son could see that Hansen is better than Hawkins at this point, and Hansen has a higher ceiling.
