'12 TX WR Jeffrey Thomas (Signed to Colorado - GS)

The Flying Burrito Brothers had quite the night, across the board. Nice numbers for Jeffery!

Who whon?

CU represented last nite! As the kids say i'm still on one! We won in a serious offensive shoot out. It took all of our weapons, 2 strong running backs, 1 dual threat QB, and our hands down receivers but we got the job done. We haven't beat Cedar Hill since 2006. We came close last year and lost 38 to 35 in a comeback by them in the 4th qtr. So you have no idea how sweet this was. It took us and hour to get off the field cause we surely did rush it! Parents all over the place. And the fact it was on our local channel was even better because NONE of the media had us winning this game. Eventhough it wasn't a win for district championship it felt like it. The kids were calling it the SUBURB SUPERBOWL. We even got crunk and the team wore kryptonite compression shirts under there gear because Cedar Hill always wears the superman symbol on their chests. One of the best feelings EVER! Even funnier that they media ain't saying JACK TODAY! I had a few choice words this morning but its all good. So now we are onto Euless Trinity next week. One game at a time!

I am already in can't wait mode to see Jeffrey playing in Boulder along with Gerald and Payton. Having talent, depth and the attitude that all three are bringing is going to be a significant part of our change for the future.

Next season can't get here fast enough!

Agreed. It's going to be nice to have a big target to throw to to compliment PRich for a year or two. I'm really excited about this WR bunch we have. Look to have swagger and play Texas football which is always a plus.

I'm rich bitch!

fify. You're too young to remember.

He went out fighting in his final high school game tonight. Duncanville lost to powerhouse Euless Trinity 55-36, but Jeff finished with 114 yards on 8 catches.

Great game Jeff and a really good season. We're ready to get you to Boulder now so you can continue to tear it up as a a Buff!

Great season Jeffery. Unfortunate about the loss, but many wins ahead in Black and Gold.

No shame in losing to Euless Trinity. Look forward to seeing you running behind Ralphie next fall.

Yep. Congrats on finishing out the HS career strong. Looking forward to seeing you running on to the field behind Ralphie!

Has it sunk in yet his next game will be in front of 50k at the college level, moett?

Congrats on a fine HS career, Jeff, and we´re very much looking forward to you having an even finer College career in Boulder.

Thanks everybody for your support! He did actually say that in the car on the way home. Kinda hit us both that the next time he's in pads it will be in college.

Are there any sort of all-star games that he might play in?

We are still hoping. He was chosen for NUC's All World Gridiron game and nominated for the Sempre Fi Bowl. The NUC didn't get enough funding so they are trying to get him into another bowl. I will keep you posted on that one. That has probably been the most disappointing about the season. He's stretched his body for catches, jumped in the air, and everything possible but because of our "situation" not sure if his numbers will be enough to pull a game or not. I know he's in the top 10 in the area for receivers and I think 2nd in district. Just think that extra 101 yards that would've put him over 1k might've done the trick. Well extremely proud for all he has learned and worked for........and he's ready to hit CU running!

I didn't realize the Corps was sponsoring an all-star game this year. I found out it is the first year. I would highly recommend any bowl game associated with the Marine Corps, it will be done right. I know I have a prejudice here. Semper Fidelis is the Marine Corps motto, it means Always Faithful... fits right in with the Buffs don't you think?

Yes sir! yes sir! I'm glad they started this one. It's giving even more kids a chance to showcase themselves. The line up so far is pretty nice. a good mix of highly visible kids and kids that have been trying to get their name out there.

I'm still editing but here's Jeff's last high school hoorah!

Moett, just got done watching the clips. You have got one damn fine possession receiver on your hands. Some may consider the term "possession receiver" to be a negative, but I don't. They are dependable guys who run good routes, get open, and will battle for the tough catch. You need them to dig your offense out of a hole... And if your possession receiver can go deep, adjust to the ball, and make a one on one catch for a big TD... all the better!

Also loved the run blocking. EB is gonna love this kid.

Thanks much! I really see each of the WRs from this class having a specialty and will have a different job on team. We had something similar this year on our HS team and when we were really passing earlier in the year it was a GREAT thing to see. One had the flat out straight speed. Two were short pass specialists. And mine was the "go get it guy". One was a RB/WR hybrid with happy feet. As the season went on they adjusted to cover and rotate their talents and it was working great. Pretty much because it is alot harder to defend knowing that there are multiple weapons on the team. Shutting down one just opens up for the others and vice versa. Excited for what Jeff and the other boys can hopefully bring to the CU offense.

Towards the end of the season I really felt like Jeff and the others were then just used to dig things out (so you were right on time with your statement) only if the running game was in trouble or worn down. Don't get me wrong we have some GREAT RBs that are only juniors and they beasted it out for us. Things just shifted to running the QB more and pushed the WRs in the background until it was too late in the game to fix things. Left me a little bitter but I guess it is what it is.

Yup. I noticed almost all his catches were the "go up and get it" variety. Even the shorter stuff was on comebacks with a slowly arriving ball. He never got hit in stride on a crossing route or anything like that.

I appreciate you being able to see that! Cause basically the QBs dad (and this is nothing to the QB) spent half the season telling my husband that his son was gonna run the ball more. Before certain games he would even tell him he hopes the WRs would get some catches. Now its one thing to feel that way. It's another to tell you son that. Its absolutely crazy to seek out a WRs dad and tell him that I told my kid to run the ball every chance he got.
So for folks that don't know what's going on, they look at his stats and say.......hey he's suppose to be an elite receiver, why aren't his stats higher? Unless you look at film or attend a game and you see the QB's stats (2000 yrd passing, 23 TDs, 5 INT/ 700+ yds rushing 5TDs) you think the QB carried the team, when really it was a group effort. Jeff had to learn to catch low balls, uncatchable high ones, stretch out his body for some.......but it's the QB that is praised and not the team.......so it's been a difficult year. I guess when folks see me rant about recruiting this is the reason why. Behind those 3 stars or 2 stars can be a history nobody knows.#stressedoutparent :bang:

Nice video. He is definitely not a scorcher but a lot of his catches were leaping/getting it at its highest point types. I was impressed

great highlight video on Jeff he is the truth now with Jeff,Peyton, and Gerald CU inherits 3 different type of studs
