2022 Transfer Portal

The NCAA lost its ability to fix this problem when they pissed off the wrong guy (Jeremy Bloom) who had the resources to drag their asses into court and blow up their little fiefdom. I’d advise against counting on the NCAA to do anything. Even if they wanted to (they don’t), they have no actual authority any longer.
Let me rephrase: College football has a huge problem and it’s institutions better figure out how to fix it.

CU at the transfer portal.

hungry oliver twist GIF
It's not CUs fault that they don't have a successful season to build off of like AZ.

To be fair, losing MT so late in the cycle (and at the very start of a rebuilding attempt), then having the world fall into pandemic lockdown, during which time CFA adopted the NIL and free-agency transfer portal... made for a really big hill to climb. We were definitely not starting from a position of strength with any of this... and starting at the bottom when all of these seismic changes hit is a really horrible place to be; then, we lose all but two scholarship QBs (including the senior starter for reasons--especially now--which seem really dumb, as he didn't even start a game at OSU), one of which gets an ACL injury, the other of which is just not ready to start yet... Those are some serious sparks around a very dry tinderbox.

But, I agree. We really need to be making the transfer portal our bitch, and so far, not a flicker of anything.

Jedd Fisch was hired a year after Dorrell and seems to be recruiting and hitting the transfer portal just fine. Karl = anticharisma

edit: not to mention Fisch is taking over for Sumlin at a program with 1 win in 2.5 years lol

Rumors that UGA is where Caleb Williams wants to go (**clarification**). Maybe we can get what is left of JT Daniels.
I get this type of thought as a discussion starter, but what makes any of us believe CU would be near the top of the consideration list for someone like a JT Daniels even given his ongoing travels and trials?

sooo the AD is really ehem an "apathetic department" or is "a pathetic" one?
Yes. You take football seriously it doesn't force your fan base/alumni/boosters to devolve into football vs futbol, which is the worst debate ever.

That’s his best option.
You honestly don't think USC's a better option for Williams than UGA?

Specifically said in his SM post that NFL development was a priority-and UGA's the one school that can get away with a game manager like Bennett at QB. Don't see it. USC or he'll stay at OU.

William's weakness is his passing skills, if he doesn't stay with OU and is seeking development it would stand to reason he's already looking at which P5 schools have developed QBs with similar skill sets that are now in the league.
The tricky part right now is with the movement of HCs and who they've hired as OC and their history of development.
I can see UGA as a possible landing spot because he'd be handed the keys to a smooth ride and wouldn't have to do much but improve an area of his game. Honestly if Williams was QB1 at UGA right now they'd be undefeated but he's not and they're still playing for a NC with less.
