2023 Rocky Mountain Showdown Preview Thread (9/16/23)

What happens if we don’t abide by the contract?
then we get sued.

we want a clean break here--- 2 of our games will be on the pac network. so far, we played our exit cleanly--- gave notice and stopped attending board meetings. some of the other late leavers tried to **** around a little bit and wsu and osu got a temp restraining order. the pac put retention agreements in place with enough of their workers to keep the network lights on and honor their commitments. if we **** them on this end, we get sued.

just assume there will be 2 weeks where everyone will be bitching about the lack of visibility for, hopefully, the last time for us. usc already bitching about it and uw and uo.

You would think that the PAC could figure out an arrangement where they can sell the rights to a few games. They would probably make a lot more than what they will make given their active audience. I don't know the ins and outs, but you would think they could enter into a temporary agreement that would benefit everyone, including a little extra $ for the conference leftovers.

I’m not aware of a way to not abide by the contract even if we wanted to. It’s not like CU can just say, “We decline to play on the PAC 12 Network this week” in order to play on Fox or ESPN.

It's not our choice. There are contracts with the networks, and they specify how games are selected each week. ESPN or Fox would have to breach a contract too.
Yep.

Anyway, it's going to be tough choosing which week not to select for ESPN & Fox networks. Every future opponent is currently ranked except UA, ASU and Stanford. Furd is a Friday night for ESPN, so maybe the AZ schools are PACN.

ASU is early enough in the season that everyone will still want their chunk of us. I’m guessing Zona and UCLA.

Damn I didn’t notice almost everyone left is currently ranked. What a time to be a Buff fan!
