I am talking in the context of this season. My biggest fear is that Hawkins has set up a culture where intensity just does not come to forefront on game day. I thought CUs lack of emotion was telling...even Neil Woelk commented that CU seemed disinterested on the sidelines. Do you really believe that CSU has better team speed than the Buffs - it certainly looked like it the way they were flying to the ball.
QB - I posted before the season the Buffs had to get better efficiency out of the QB position. It did not happen and we are going to see better defenses than CSU's. 5.5 yards per attempt just will not cut it. I am convinced the book is out on CH - rush him and get a hand in his face and he will make bad throws and bad decisions. Do not know the answer but it has to improve.
OLine - Do not understand what happened there but only hope it can get better with experience. The line looked slow. CSU did not have a bunch of studs on the Dline...
WRs - I am hoping that Simas will make a big difference.. He should know the playbook, he has been here 3 years. But these guys do not scare anyone of course 2 of them were not practicing 2 weeks ago.
Offensive coaching - not going to go there.
Defensive line. This could be the Achilles Heel of the entire team - They were dominated, hopefully the CSU oline is that good. But I am afraid that this is going to continue to be an area of concern.
Linebackers - I was disappointed in their play but I know this group has the talent.
DBs - the safeties got fooled on play action too many times resulting in the big pass plays ( of course when the opposing QB has all day he is going to hit some passes).
Defensive coaching - Collins has to figure out how to get pressure on opposing QBs on a consistant basis - this has not happened under his tenure.
