CU Assistant Coach Hiring Thread

Stanford should have been a win regardless of OL play, but I tend to think an average OL beats them, Arizona, Oregon State, and UCLA at a minimum and at that point, how is Shedeur feeling and does he play against Utah cause if so, we win that too. USC came down to a failed onside kick.

In my mind, Oregon and probably WSU, although who knows how things would have played out down the stretch, are the only no hopers regardless of OL play.

Query for the board: if it took 75% of our recruiting/NIL budget to get enough OL to make next year's OL above average, is that worth it?
Yes. Protecting 2 is priority number one. So much so, they had to create a tag line for it.

Are analysts allowed to have contact with players and recruits? It seems like Sapp's greatest asset at the moment would be recruiting.
They can have contact with them on campus, yes. They can't go on the road and recruit. For current players, they can't do any on-field coaching, but they can be there with the coaches. They can also talk with players in the facilities, attend meetings, do film study, etc with players and coaches.

Basically, Analysts just can't be on the practice or game field putting players through drills or coaching them directly.

This seems like the correct spot to break him in then.

Not sure how points 2 and 3 have any bearing on 1.
They do not have a major bearing, but he is a man that played big time Big12 Football with now SEC Oklahoma, and he is a Colorado guy, so in-state recruiting for long-term development guys would be stronger than it has been in a long time

Given that most of his connects are outside of Colorado, I don’t think we can conclude that his hire would necessarily make the Colorado OL crooting pipeline stronger than it’s been in a long time.

WTF would CU want a strong Colorado prep pipeline? I understand getting a player each year, two in a good year for prep football, but not a freaking pipeline.
Colorado has OL/TE talent that routinely goes elsewhere and contributes. In some cases (Loadholt is an example), they blossom into real/great players. It would be nice to retain that small subsection of players.
