Facilities Plans...

I don't know what you're talking about, but there's no sandbagging in capital campaigns.

There's no sandbagging to print/internet media? RG did the same thing (or the DC did) with the ground breaking ceremony, and I'm talking about quotes, and turned around and had the ceremony.

Sandbagging serves no purpose. You want people to think you're doing a great job, and that they can be part of something big. You don't want them thinking "they're really struggling". There is no good reason to sandbag, through the media or otherwise, in a capital campaign.

Well it's the same approach he used for the Spring Game

Sandbagging is different this keeping one's powder dry in advance of the Regent's meeting.

I'm hoping its some sensitive and significant deals coming at the eleventh hour.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. But at this point RG has been kicking ass and taking names 100%. I think he has earned some trust here

I agree which is why I found it odd that they would quote him in that article saying they were "well over halfway" and later in the same article that they still hope to meet their May 12 groundbreaking goal. To hit May 12 they need to be well over 95% which technically would be well over halfway, but the why not say that??

Well it's the same approach he used for the Spring Game

The approach he used for the Spring Game was to announce that they hadn't met their goals yet, and that there wouldn't be a groundbreaking ceremony. Then he came back two or three weeks later and said that they had since raised enough to break ground. How is that sandbagging?

RG said they still have a lot of work to do and Ringo came out and said that the ceremony was unlikely to happen. Pretty much the same tactic as now, with the exception that the construction is on for sure on the 12th. RG hasn't been specific in how much has been raised, it's always "we're more than halfway to the 1/3rd mark", and that IMO is where he is sandbagging. Maybe I should use a different word...

I may have fibbed a little bit about the sandbagging thing. Turns out there is a pretty good reason to sandbag. If, for instance, you've received all the pledges needed, but are still in the process of obtaining bids and/or are concerned about people not coming through on their pledges, you might say something like "We're still working on it, but are very pleased with where we are in the process at this time". Even though, technically, you've reached your goal.

Is that what's happening here? I doubt it, but that would be great if so.

I've decided to step up on this.

I am going to sell my virginity online. Major value on this for one lucky lady: only $100k and I'll keep going as long as the Viagra effect lasts.

If I can get another 500 of you guys on board to do the same, we'll pay for this damn thing.

Yeah. I don't know how representative I am of AllBuffs, but I'd probably bring in more money with a celibacy pledge drive.

Looks like May 12 is on. You may have been right or it was something similar.

If it is not your anal virginity in discussion here, my bet is on the Viagra outlasting your stamina, so the girl who bids better be in shape. (no offense)

There is an awful lot of Tini being right in this thread - not sure how I feel about that.
