So I was just looking over the historical data here:

    http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/boulder/firstsnow.html

and it got me thinking that the timing wouldn't be that far off for a huge dump of a first snow the night of the georgia game. How ****ing awesome would that be? Black out, night, snow, 1990 championship team, and a win over a SEC team. That'd be a great way to get the team rolling again.

And even better, it will show the Pac-12 schools what they are in for!

We haven't had an actual snow game in a looooong time, iirc. I would love one. Maybe have a high of 35 on the day and just near kickoff it drops to 25-28 and dumps some giant snowflakes. Deal with that **** AJ Green!

Plus our huge and dominant offensive line is, uh, built for snowy conditions.

Sounds like a safe weather prediction so far in advance. Those can change drastically as the date approaches.

Totally. 12-0. I was sitting front row student section next to a tool from Wisconsin who couldn't stop talking about how cold it gets and how much it snows in Wisconsin. Dude left during the 3rdQ, he looked miserable.

Buffs had a great goal line stand in that game - someone laid a hit on their QB (Brian Kavanaugh I think) who looked dead for a few minutes on the frozen turf. From that game:

Snow games are pretty rare in Boulder. In fact, I can only remember a small handful. The NU game in 1991, the KSU game in 96. The ISU game in 94 had snow on the ground, but it wasn't actually snowing that day. The NU game in 2007 was cold, but I don't think it actually snowed that day. It wanted to, though.

That was my first CU game as a kid. It was awesome! As a 12 year old, I could not figure out why some of the people around us were acting crazy and falling down all the time. In retrospect, we were sitting right next to the student section and they were all hammered  Probably kept them warm though...i froze my ass off.

Boulder typically doesn't see snow until Halloween.

I'm answering my own question, it was Iowa State 2000, in terms of an all out snowfest. Also known as the Sage Rosenfels game.

My favorite Buff snowgame was Kansas 1991, huge comeback, wild game.

The biggest snow game I remember was Kansas in '91. They could not keep the snow off the field even with tractors. You could not see the yard markings. Vance Joseph came in place of injured Hagan and led the buffs to a close victory.

The coldest game I have ever been to was that same year against Nebraska, it was just cold then, not snowing, but a lot of snow on the ground, and they didn't clear it out of the stands then so students were having snowball fights and throwing snowballs at the Nebraska players.

Weird, but I have no recollection of the Kansas game in 91. Does Kansas have a football team? I'm already starting to forget them.

    You don't remember that ****?

Kansas was actually pretty decent in the early 90's under Glenn Mason. They almost beat us in that snow bowl.

2007 Nebraska it snowed the day before and the morning of but none during the game. The stadium people didn't clear the snow either so it made for a really cold seat. That was still an awesome game though.

they did beat us in 96 in the David Winbush game at Folsom (might be 95, though). I think that KU team finished in the top 10-15. yer right, Mason did have some good teams. i remember he took the UCLA job and then backed out to return to KU....before eventually heading to Minnesota. he obviously had some success if he parlayed coaching at KU (graveyard) into a UCLA offer.
