isu is hardly a world-beater. if this game were in boulder, i think we'd all be chalking it up as a win. but, even with the incredibly awful road record under this staff, this game is still very winnable. CU DOES have better athletes than isu. if they can just go out and execute and not let it get away from them early, they've got a good chance to win.
if they manage to beat isu, then our slim hopes of a saved season won't be totally dashed.
okie state on the road is a big, big challenge but maybe the Buffs can sneak in there and steal one. maybe? sure, all evidence supports the contrary, but it is still college football and anything can happen. if the Buffs can play a complete game, for once, they could feasibly win this one.
win that ones somehow and the head into the fusker game with the season on the line and playing at folsom, i wouldn't count the team out, would you?
6-6 might not get them into a bowl, but most everyone would sure feel a lot better about things. i know there is ton of anti-hawk sentiment and 6-6 isn't going to change that. it is hard to excuse some of the failures this staff has had. but, not HAVING to fire the coach (and a reasonable case could be made to retain him at 6-6) is probably the easiest course of action. so, most of us, even those of us who don't like hawkins, will live with it.
here's to rooting for the improbable. hell, with a few breaks, that nearly impossible 6-6 might even get them into the championship game. of course, that might be a double-edged sword!
anyhow, all we can do is hope for the best. if it doesn't work out, i imagine a decision on hawkins' future will come very quickly after the fusker game. then, we'll know where we stand.
