Any NCAA violations to consider?
Out of the frying ban into the bonfire.
Be careful with the bonfire jokes.
Wow. Basically throwing away the season.
Indeed. :smile2:
I still think that was hilarious...:smile2:
Oh, I'm not arguing about how tasteful it was.

so far no press on this here in baja oklahoma.... what he did, releasing the medical information is against federal law, a felony, is what my ag co-worker says.... and that may cause him to lose his job, but the NCAA getting involved... I dont know about that....
yes, but rather tasteless....
that was a bad deal and it was just a bunch of kids.
just saying.....
Lighten up! Equating the word 'bonfire' with the 1999 disaster is too narrow minded. You don't equate "Shuttle" with "NASA disaster" do you?
Fact is that the A&M Bonfire has been, is, and will continue to be an A&M tradition sure as Ralphie is part of CU's.
Using the word bonfire should be fair game when referring to A&M, and shouldn't automatically be associated with the tragic loss of 12 Aggies nearly a decade ago.
The purpose of the bonfire to show A&M's "burning desire to beat the hell outta t.u."
The University does not hold the Bonfire anymore. A group off campus has a similar one every year since but It's nowhere near as big.
Didn't some kids die in that bonfire thing?? If so, then there should be no jokes made about it, tasteless or not. Kids celebrating their traditions and something going wrong and some of them dying = respect and NO JOKES!!
I seem to remember that it was while they were setting up for the bonfire---I was them with cranes out there and standing up and banding together what looked like frigging telephone poles. Just a massive frikkin fire, and that is an understatement. Have they started that back up, or is it done forever?
Lighten up, Francis. You want to know what really made the joke hilarious? The ****ing aggy response to flood a message board and post pics of Rae Carruth as a response, THAT's what made it so hilarious. The goddamn lemmings came in with their typical 'boycott this' 'classless that' and all that ****, and totally blew things out of proportion. Tasteless jokes are constantly made about tragedies and, believe it or not, humor is one tool to move past them. That's a concept I expect aggy to not understand, but certainly I didn't think we'd have that kind of head-in-the-sand mentality here.

Being a noob on AB this season, the bonfire thing went completely over my head. Considering it was 4Dem & 96, should have figured that out.
So here's an AB101 question: is the bonfire thing a regular ritual before the CU-A game? It might just come in handy for the run-up to the CCG.:wink2:
