    good:

CU showed heart, tenacity, and proved to be pretty well-conditioned. the offensive playcalling, i thought, was very good.

    bad:

special teams-- both coaching and execution. seeing miller in street clothes on crutches. the execution failures in the first half. the defense getting beaten down.

    ugly:

the refs, of course... also, the fact that our Buffs now face 3 more ranked teams in the next 4 weeks. also, our lack of depth and athletes is pretty apparent. that was a beatable fsu team, but they had far more athletes and they used them.

The playcalling was decent. A huge upgrade from the last 2 games.

The bad - very marginal QB play. Cody will not take us to the next level, but we cannot bench him...who would take his place?

I'm a huge Cody fan, but I think the program has outgrown him. He is the best QB we have but has been said before he won't take us to the next level.

Cody has looked poor all season long. I am hoping that Hanson is the answer - but he is obviously not the answer right now.

Cody has gotten worse on his reads, and he is often not finding his valves and has done poor in throwing into the direction of the blitz.... this on top of his poor throwing power, and his accuracy is worse as well.

He's got lots of things to work on

I just don't see anyone ready to take Cody's place.

I don't want to replace Cody, but We need to play someone else to get ready for the 2010 season.

What is the story on Ryan?

Then I guess we are doomed:smile2:

He over threw today and one to the te would have been an EASY td.(there are easy td's. Chip shot fg missed etc...

I thought the playcalling was fine, would like to see scott get to carry the ball 3 times in a row.If you run the ball twice and get 16 yds,run it again,it's okay.

Special teams and taCKLING NEED HUGE IMPROVEMENT BUT,3-1 HEADING INTO BIG 12 PLAY,i'LL TAKE IT.

Before we all start slamming on Cody we should remember he's the QB who beat OU last year. He isn't a horrible player. He just had a horrible game.

Exactly...3-1 is sweet....but very frustrating to think that if Cody could have come through, 4-0 was attainable.

Forget about this game...it is all about the friggin Horns now.

Until we get depth and more ability at the skill positions (especially QB), then get use to it...

I love cody but I'm starting to question him a bit. Has he had a good game yet this year?

I don't know about the play calling to tell the truth. It leaves a lot to be desired. What is up with the delayed handoffs? They result in 3-5 yard losses and look very bad. The play calling looks very unorganized to me, except for the 4th quarter on those two drives, which looked very nice. The TE's seem underutilized, they can be HUGE weapons.

You use these delayed hand offs to use FSU's speed against them. It works well against aggressive D's like the 'Noles. Just not all the time.

No, he has not. He has a huge heart and he can manage a game, but he just isnt going to make big plays and when he gets frustrated it really goes down hill. I agree with Valdez, probably no other options but Cody is never gonna be a great QB or probably even a really good QB for that matter.

We need Josh Nunes to come in a take over. We will never win the Div, let alone the Conference until we get a playmaker QB.

What makes you think Nunes is the answer?

Correct. At least on the playmaker comment...not sure about Nunes.

No, but he hasn't had any games that were horrible. Today was as bad as it's gotten - some really bad overthrows on wide open receivers (made the right read, obviously), and 1 interception. Florida State would LOVE to have their quarterbacks look like that when they have off games.

If Ballenger was ready i think we would've heard about him pushing Cody by now.

Off games, yeah. But I'll say it again. Has Cody looked good yet this year? If all games are off games we've got a problem.

It pains me to say this cause I'm a big C-Hawk fan.

Cody was real bad for the EWU game.

He was okay in the WVU game. He got off to a great start, but disappeared after that.

I think saying Cody is bad is a far cry from the truth, inconsistant would describe it better. The favorite person on any football team is always the backup QB. Just take a break and relax, FSU is a good, fast team and came into this game fired up. Yes we should have added at least 14 points and been in the positive turnover category but next week I think we have a real chance at playing very well and fired up against texas.

I'm saying we need a better QB, if Cody is the best we have, than we will never be that good. So we need a much better QB, if Ballenger isnt the answer; we should at least let him try.

DH needs to be a HC and give another QB a chance, if not this year then next year. Start thinking about the future.
