Scooter will be named the HC mid-week next week!!!!! Welcome home Scooter! RTD!
EB fires me up.
Plus he's a lights out recruiter who is highly respect and has deep contacts in the coaching community. Throw in that the CU fan base and boosters are really excited about him.
Ecstatic.
Ecstatic. The thing that would pull it down would be if his assistant coaches were blah.
How many other programs would consider EB for head coach? The lack of coordinator experience is also a big factor in my mind. I voted 2.

I have to go with a 5 on this one. I am excited cause he is a lights out recruiter (which is half of being successful anyway in college football) and he has a fire for this program. I was kind of curious about what others thought of him so I started looking things up and listening to KOA, ESPN and others. Several things actually made me think he would be a great choice. First of all they have done interviews with several NFL coaches and players who have said EB was and is one of the best, most passionate coaches they have ever seen and they all love him to death. This coming from NFL caliber coaches and players is a great sign that he knows what he is doing. Secondly, there was some talk on the national level that EB is probably not completely ready for a major HC gig..... but he was labeled by ESPN as one of the best potential coaches in college football. They said he is one of the best young coaches and while he lacks the experience now, if CU specifically does not pick him up now they will never again get a shot at him cause he will be somewhere else for sure. Basically the ESPN/FOX/Coaches/NFL player take was he may not be totally ready but he WILL be an incredible coach and now is our shot to get him. I believe it was either Brad Childress or a Vikes player even said CU would be stupid to not take him right now. That is a lot of support for EB and I would rather let him learn a little on the job and take a few years to totally figure it out vs missing out on having potentially one of the best coaches in college. And put it this way..... can things get worse? I can promise if EB gets a good staff he can at least double the wins Hawk had his first year.
Ditto. I'm all about being wrong in a few years, but I can't shake the John Blake feeling I have.
I voted 2.
I put a 5 even though Miles would be a tad more exciting-
salary, salary of assistant coaches, EB's schedule.
And how do we know this?Scooter will be named the HC mid-week next week!!!!! Welcome home Scooter! RTD!
I'd say I'm at a 4.5/5 on him. I jumped on the EB bandwagon after I watched that video someone posted of him doing film study with Adrian Peterson. Something about that just gave me a good feeling. I think he could do great things here and if we can't get Miles (which never really seemed much more than wishful thinking), I'm 100% on board with EB.
I think EB would be fantastic with everything that is related to football: game planning, coaching, recruiting, team building, etc. My confidence in him getting good players and teaching them how to play football couldn't be higher.
The only things that are keeping me from being a "hell yeah!" for EB as HC are all the non-football related tasks he will have to do as well. A HC is a coach but also an administrator, a PR guy, a fundraiser and a politician. If he can't manage the program (all coaches and support staff), woo the press into favorably showcasing his team, glad hand alumni and boosters into opening their wallets, and negotiate/manipulate the AD and the university staff into giving the football program what it needs then he will be doomed as the HC no matter how good his players and staff are. He may be skilled in all these areas already, I don't know I haven't seen him in any of those roles at all, but that is what is causing me to pause on him being HC.
