Just sayin... someone had to do it, after all its been awhile.
Island of Misfit Threads here we go
How many kids can CU recruit this year?
Close to 30 if we get some December grads we can roll back into 2011.
i defer to nik about this stuff...when he gets worried i get worried.
nik doesn't seem to be worried.
neither should you.
What are you talking about. It's the beginning of May with NSD a mere nine months away. We need to be in full-blown panic mode now. I just jumped out of a window. Luckily I was on the first floor, so I wasn't seriously wounded, just skinned my knee. If we don't land 20 5* recruits by next week, all is lost!!!
I'm close to being suicidal.
Yes, I think it's okay to be concerned. I would've thought that we would have gotten some of the top CO lineman by now and a high tier quarterback. There's lots of interest, but frankly, the three commits we have now have a total of 5 offers between them. Seems very Hawkinish.
Keep in mind that with prospects who commit this early that other programs back off. Norgard, in particular, has been telling programs that he's firm in his commitment and not interested in taking other visits. He'd likely have a half dozen BCS offers right now if he was playing the field. I think he's the #4 in-state prospect this year behind Callahan, Miles and Thurston (ahead of Baylis). Henington I'd probably put at #6 behind Baylis and Kozan. Catalon we will need to pull out all the stops to hold onto, as he's drawing a ton of attention, but I feel good since it's rare that EB loses a recruit after he gains a verbal. All are legit high major prospects.

I'm not doubting you, but that is the same old lines we heard over and over again with Hawkins' recruits. He would've had more offers if his grades were better, if he played better competition, if he wasn't hurt, if he sent out videos, he had a late growth spurt, he didn't want to stay in his region, he was under the radar, etc. etc. Heard it all and, so far anyway, it's no different. The three current commits are woefully short on scholarships. Yes, there may be a legit reason (as there always seems to be with our commits) but it is what it is.

Depending on who does the rankings
Right now i would rank the instate talent as follow
1. Cyler Miles
2. Thurston
3. Flores
4. Calahan
5. Baylis
6. Kozan
7. O conner
8. Hennington
9. Nogard
Flores is way too high. Norgard is way too low. Flores is getting attention right now due to his size, similar to Marc Mustoe last year. Thurston and Callahan are a clear cut #1 and #2 as far as in-state linemen go IMO.
Flores is big and also athletic. The guy blocks down field and pulls from the LT position. He has the higher ceiling, because he is still growing, Flores is going to be a beast.
I actually think Callahan has the biggest upside because he is still growing too. Would not surprise me to see Callahan playing in college at 6-7/320.
Thurston is much more polished than either though. I am going to be really disappointed if we miss on either Thurston or Callahan.
