Mike Bohn to head UC AD

Jeezus for the 100th time. Bohn sucked.

Remember when he had his going away party and listed all his accomplishments… and he mysteriously forgot to mention anything football.

The three most important things he did was hire three football coaches

Hawkins
Embree
MacIntyre

All were terrible. We are in this position because of him and RG hasn’t made it any better

The issue with RG is that he has negotiated multiple egregiously bad contracts for multiple different coaches. Whether it be in terms of buyout money for schools looking to take a coach from CU being way too low (Tucker) or buyout money for CU if they were to fire someone being outlandishly high (KD, MM) relative to their worth as a coach. That is not PD's fault. Yes he sucks, yes he's a part of the problem. But RG ineptitude as an AD is on RG. PD, if he wanted, could pressure him to try and field a competitive staff and team, but PD definitely isn't pressuring him to give **** contracts and make **** hires.
While true, given what we think we know about the general state of leadership at CU-Boulder, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if RG was instructed to make sure he wasn’t put in a position where he would have to renegotiate a contract after a year or two. Honestly, look at both RG and Mike Bohn and the other jobs they had prior to taking over this one. They were both considered very good, if not great hires at the time. Guys like that don’t just start sucking because they’re lazy or stupid. They have to operate within the parameters they are given. I see a definite trend here. It’s no coincidence that Marolt was successful at exactly the same time we had Gee and Corbridge running the show here. Marolt didn’t have anywhere close to the pedigree that Bohn and RG had when they came here. Yet he was great and the others have been horrible? Doesn’t that sound odd?
