What are some of the most suspensul action filled games you have watched the buffs in? I can think of some like 62-36 and 65-51 over NU, the 2003 CSU game to name a few, but I think the '02 KSU game might take the cake of them all as far as big plays in a big game. Just watching these highlights brings back a lot of memories of how fun that game was. The 62-36 game probably meant more for me just cause we started the downward spiral of Nu football, but the KSU game was pretty sweet!

    Calhoun scores first TD

    Brown long run

    Bloom goes long

    And this is for TBD

It would be nice to see us have something close to that on offense. We had some talent then. We might be the most talented we have been since the '01 and '02 seasons, we just have to show it now. And I don't think Robert Hodge is that much better than Cody.

I think the 2007 OU game was probably the most exciting game I've seen in a very long time. The 86 NU game was good, but the outcome wasn't in doubt for the last 5-6 minutes of the game. I remember seeing students up on the railing, holding on to the speaker pole, swinging it back and forth. That was nuts. That was my freshman year at CU. Nice way to start, huh?

The 2001 CCG was great, but there's something special about being among 50,000+ of your closest friends screaming your head off when a kicker makes a field goal.

2001 CU 39 -Texas 37 Lucky for us Mack Brown kept Major Applewhite on the bench for the first half while he was kissing Sims a$$. Clutch last minute field goal - one of the biggest in school history by Jeremy Flores wins game for Barnett who made a bonehead call that resulted in an interception to give Texas a 37 - 36 lead.

Texas didn't have the lead that late. the field goal made in 39-30, and texas scored a td in garbage time.

    1994 @ Michigan - INCREDIBLE
2001 vs. Texas - Best program win since 1990
2001 vs. Nebraska - I made a deal with my friend before the game that I would do a shot after every CU TD
    1990 @ Missouri - Unbelievable game before 5th down
    1994 @ Texas - Rashaan needs an IV, I need O2
    1995 @ Oklahoma - "asterisk" game
1991 vs. Notre Dame - Biggest win in school history
1995 vs. Notre Dame - No you didn't come out in green jerseys...
    2007 vs. Oklahoma - Turning Point 2.0
1989 vs. Notre Dame - most anticipated game in CU history
    2006 vs. Georgia*
1999 vs. Oregon (Aloha Bowl) - very wild game

*I had to put this game on here because, flat out, it was a war. CU came out scrappy and determined and needing a win in the worst way, and dominated a top 10 team on the road. Tragic outcome, but very exciting game.

Texas did not take the lead in that game. CU scored a field goal late, but it wasn't to take the lead. Texas scored right after the FG, and then CU recovered the onside kick.

edit: I just read your post, not the responses.

your'e right, it must have been my paranoia, knowing that if Flores missed that field goal we were going to lose - which we would have. The scoring summary has Texas scoring first with 9:56 left in the first quarter. It was the most exciting game I can remember. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Applewhite flip off the CU bench when he was running downfield after throwing a touchdown pass.
    Scoring Summary:
1st 09:56 UT - Benson, Cedric 5 yd run (Mangum, Dusty kick)
    6 plays, 85 yards, TOP 2:02, UT 7 - CU 0
02:21 CU - Brown, Chris 10 yd run (Flores, Jeremy kick)
    3 plays, 12 yards, TOP 1:18, UT 7 - CU 7
2nd 14:24 CU - Flores, Jeremy 39 yd field goal
    5 plays, 31 yards, TOP 1:26, UT 7 - CU 10
11:36 CU - Brown, Chris 1 yd run (Flores, Jeremy kick failed)
    6 plays, 64 yards, TOP 2:19, UT 7 - CU 16
05:49 UT - Mangum, Dusty 50 yd field goal
    12 plays, 41 yards, TOP 5:47, UT 10 - CU 16
03:48 CU - Graham, Daniel 22 yd pass from Pesavento, Bobb (Pesavento, Bobb pass failed)
    1 play, 22 yards, TOP 0:09, UT 10 - CU 22
02:32 CU - Moorer, Medford 64 yd interception return (Flores, Jeremy kick)
    UT 10 - CU 29
01:47 UT - Johnson, B.J. 79 yd pass from Applewhite, Major (Mangum, Dusty kick)
    3 plays, 80 yards, TOP 0:45, UT 17 - CU 29
3rd 11:32 CU - Brown, Chris 11 yd run (Flores, Jeremy kick)
    5 plays, 40 yards, TOP 2:23, UT 17 - CU 36
07:32 UT - Mangum, Dusty 26 yd field goal
    8 plays, 71 yards, TOP 4:00, UT 20 - CU 36
4th 13:42 UT - Mangum, Dusty 38 yd field goal
    7 plays, 59 yards, TOP 2:17, UT 23 - CU 36

Your'e right about the 36 - 30 score before the field goal.
I disagree with the garbage time, Applewhite was carving us up like a hot knife through butter. There were 31 seconds left after the score to make it 39 - 37. We got the onsides kick. Which all goes back to Flores kick, GB on TV right after the game said his "kicker bailed him out".

    Found it.

    http://miami.fandome.com/video/96982/Miami-Gets-It-Poppin-1993-Colorado-Brawl/

It's pretty hard to find a specific brawl among the seemingly endless collection that Miami has been in.

That video actually gets me pretty fired up. When the long snapper, Tom Patterson?, goes down and the 15-20 hurricanes surround and start kicking him, I'm ready to charge into that beatdown. **** those guys.

    GO BUFFS!

Very important, Applewhite was on a tear, and remember he sat on the bench for almost the entire first half. If he got the ball back with just 31 seconds left, I think we would have been in big trouble.

Hodge always played within himself, and didn't try to force things. He was more of a manager of the offense than the playmaker. He didn't have to because he had some playmakers. Bloom had to be accounted for on every play.

My two favorite screen plays of all time (both on third and long, both went for 1st downs) were in that drive, one to Cortlen Johnson, the other to Chris Brown.

I can't open this link, by the way.

I was at the game, and didn't mind mixing it up a little bit from time-to-time, but oddly wasn't tempted to get in the middle of that mess. It was pretty ugly.

What I remember most about that game wasn't the brawl, but the bull**** offensive facemask penalty at the end of the game. The Buffs were driving, doing what they wanted on every play and knocking on the endzone for what would have been a game-winning touchdown as time ran out. Offensive facemask? Are you ****ing kidding me?

I remember Woody wrote a column the next day titled something along the lines, "There will be a bonus in the Big East officials paychecks this week".

I was having a discussion with a colleague of mine a while back. The subject of officiating came up. I had to say that of all the football games I had ever personally witnessed, that this one was the only one that was directly decided by the officials. They flat out blew that game. They handed it to the canes. Handed it to them. Shameful. They should have all been fired before they left the stadium.

We were at the 15 yd line east stands and that offensive facemask call was atrocious. The game before at stanford wasn't much better.

That was pretty awful. Especially since Chris Hudson had come up with that strip to give us the ball back when miami was in a position to run the clock out.

Even worse was the aftermath of that game. Even though miami was the instigator of that brawl, CU got tarred by the same brush, as showboaters/thugs. For years, Every time a CU guy scored a TD, if if he celebrated AT ALL we would get the taunting penalty.

Funniest one is the FIU brawl when the Hurricane broadcaster starts talking smack like a punk on a streetcorner. Good thinking idiot, millions are listening to you make a jackass out of yourself.
