Missed free throws, ****ty offense = loss.
Our offensive sets leave something to be desired. Frustrating.
Well, that and Cal not making a single shot in OT but getting so many foul calls they were able to outscore us.

If Cal is the 4, we beat them. That Cal squad will not beat us twice in 5 days. We can still be the dagger that sends them to the NIT
rarely complain about refs but I will this time. Cal went 7:45 without making a single shot. Sure, we helped them out but they had major help at the free throw line. That was ridiculous, ridiculous home cooking.
This shows that actually running some offense can be vital in voles games. Cal doesn't even make a field goal in OT, yet we lose the game. Great defense can only take you so far and doesn't put the ball in the hoop for you.
Probably Wazzu. They're only a 1/2 game up on USC because they haven't played UCLA yet. We'll be playing Washington State.

Drawing up plays that go to someone other than our fifth scoring option are good too.
Poor execution on the final possessions of regulation and overtime. Run a play to get Scott the ball down low. I hate taking 3s when you only need a two. Free throws hurt as well.

Have no clue why XJ was left out of the offense down the stretch, and Scott didn't get many touches in the final minutes and OT either. Too much dicking around on the perimeter, wasting the clock away to get a crappy shot off, if at all. This team better wake up by next week and start playing with some consistency.
Exactly. Play well against Trojans/Cougs. Decent seeding all considered.

Also, tonight is a textbook lesson of why you never take a timeout after you've taken the lead to set your defense. That's a major no-no.
That's why I don't get why we don't run and gun, we suck in the half court. Push the damn basketball already.
We usually do. We try to push the ball, usually. The problem comes when we try slow it down when we have the lead.
I love Tad, but our set offense out of timeouts sucks a skunk's scrotum.

One of the announces stated at some point in the second half that the Tab Boyle's teams "don't beat themselves." But that's what happened this afternoon in Berkeley. The last possession of regulation was a microcosm of the issues. You just can't have that opportunity and come away with no shot.
